Christmas presents

This year Ive had to exchange xmas presents with my friend a few days ago as theres never been a day where we're both free after we've finished buying for each other (even today was a quick exchange).

I opened the presents last night to find a pair of earrings that were loose (not attached to any card) and not my style at all, ive never worn earrings in that style and have complained before that i hate that type! Last year, I received nail varnish that was only half full and already opened, i did try to use it but it had clumps and then it was watery like it was old. I barely have any nails to paint anyway so couldnt understand that either- I dont think in the 4 years of friendship shes seen me wear any nail varnish because of my small ugly nails.

AIBU to think she's just giving me her old stuff / not putting any thought into presents? I always thank her for them but they're things that never get used / worn because they're just not me!

We text each other pretty much everyday and even though we live in different towns we see each other at least once/twice a month for a whole day and we've never had any arguments or problems. Just a bit confused to be honest Confused

Just stop exchanging presents? She either can't afford it or can't be arsed so don't bother.

Have you spoken to her about it? Tell her you would rather not exchange gifts than half used nail varnish
