We are remodelling our kitchen and I dream of an american style fridge freezer with ice maker and chilled water on the front.

F&P seem to be the go to brand - but are they as good as they seem? I want lots of fridge/freezer space (family of 6) and easy access to things without rummaging

I've been looking at them too but I'm a bit worried about the water dispenser at the front, doesn't it go all over the floor or do you get used to it?

We've had ours about three months and I love it so far. The water dispenser stops the second you take pressure off so no spillage so far. It's a really nice streamlined design too. We have the 800 wide one and freezer space is a little limited, so you'd want to go for a wider width if possible.

We don't have a water dispenser, but it's capacious and well designed (especially the freezer bit).

How much freezer space do you actually get? It looks like it's mostly fridge.

I love the look of the black french door 900m one, but it says it only has one freezer drawer which doesn't sound like enough. (I currently have an ordinary fridge freezer and the freezer has 3 drawers, which are always bursting full)

Hate mine, wouldn’t get it again but we inherited it with the house.

Double doors, side by side, each door is too narrow to enable access with just one open so every sodding time you want an item you have to open both doors. It only has 3 shelves from waist height whereas my ‘vertical’ larder fridge/freezer in the previous house gave twice as much storage cubic meter-wise.

Freezer draw of F&P at bottom is acceptable though!

We love ours. 6 years and counting. Best fridge we ever had. Lots of space, keeps food fresh really well and is called the super fridge in our house, not noisy at all and stylish to look at.

Seriously, look at Maytag. Really quality, had ours 8-9 years and works perfectly still. It's American (and apparently Madonna has the same one!)

It’s nice, I like it and have only just realised it is silent. Much better than our old gagg and big enough for 6

The ice-maker in mine is so clunky we can hear the ice drop 3 rooms away with a houseful of guests

I can hear the ice drop in mine too, but not from 3 rooms away. It's never worried me, it's how they work isn't it?

Inherited FO dishwasher and oven with the house and wouldn’t touch the brand again.
Not reliable and any repair takes ages and is v costly as not many engineers. Parts are v expensive

Love our f&p French door fridge. Worth every penny. Everyone that visits and needs to use it comments on how ace it is. 5 of us and it does the job.

Freezer is also good - look at the volume compared to other FF and it's the same or more. I had an america FF years ago and it's freezer was nothing compared to this(I do have a chest freezer in shed though... so maybe shouldn't comment)

Costco have Maytag ones but I liked the look of F&P.

My parents have one and they’ve had nothing but issues. On their third ice maker and yes water dispenser goes all over the floor !

We have a samsung and parents wish they’d gone for that.

Oh i don't have the ice one.... like the clean lines
