To ask if anyone has done Invisalign or other adult braces?

Nervously contemplating a big spend on Invisalign or some other adult braces type thing to finally address my teeth. They're healthy but not very aesthetically pleasing. Not terrible though, either, so I'm wondering just how much discomfort/inconvenience there is with getting them done with the invisible aligners or even adult braces. Anyone done it? Was it worth it? How many months did it take from start to finish?

Watching with interest. I'm worried about keeping my teeth clean with fixed braces, how do you keep on top of that?

I still use my interspace brush twice daily after brushing after having my braces removed - and haven't had to go to the hygienist for over a year now as it is so excellent for removing plaque etc - every time I ask my dentist if I need to go she says only if you want the stains (inside) removed but there's no plaque or urgency.

Even if you don't have braces would highly recommend getting some of these and using daily for plaque around gumline.

Also interdental brushes between teeth etc. You can get the airfloss which is quite good for between teeth or a waterpik

When you have fixed braces you are meant to clean for 8 min a time three times a day!! It's full on but you get used to it (I didn't quite manage it all the time).

I also always swish with Xylitol after brushing, it's excellent for dental health and killing bacteria. Another recommendation. It tastes and looks like sugar, you spit it out after swishing and leave the residue on teeth.

April once they're straightened they'll bond the teeth or file any down that are now longer, mine were bonded so essentially adding stuff onto the tooth, kind of like the filling stuff.

I had fixed braces and double jaw surgery on the NHS. Took 2 years 8 months all in but a lot of that was on the waiting list for surgery.

Initially I found the braces very uncomfortable but it eased off after a couple of weeks. Each adjustment was followed by may be a day of pain.

I'm on alligner 32 of 35 as part of my Invisalign treatment. Cost £3800 (that included a £400 special offer discount).

My teeth are loads better and I have no regrets. Some aligners have been uncomfortable fire a day when I change them, but nothing major.

I take mine out to eat, but I do now drink through a straw (you're not meant to, but it hasn't stained my teeth and my orthodontist did say it would be ok)

A lot of places offer a free consultation, so it's worth going along to see what they say.

Did you decide what to do OP? I had my consultation today. Lots of options to choose from ranging from €2800 for top only train tracks to €4700 for top and bottom Invisalign. They'll send me a letter outlining everything and I can make a decision then. My head is steering me to top and bottom train tracks with clear brackets abs tooth coloured wire.
