To ask for your dog friendly uk holiday suggestions

Looking to book a holiday for me and my dds (11 and 20) and our dog. Must be in the uk as eldest dd has anxiety about boat travel. Previously we have been to forest holidays in Hampshire and a ranch in Dorset and revisited both several times, but fancy something new this time.

Swimming pool or hot tub would be nice but not essential, sandy dog friendly beach is essential and possibly nice forest/countryside for walking and cycling. We have a very busy life most of the time so like to relax, visit beautiful areas and play board games on holiday- just really chilled and definitely no big resorts with full on activities and screaming children everywhere. My screaming child is quite enough

I would suggest the north Norfolk coast. Very relaxing, huge beautiful, sandy beaches. V v dog friendly everywhere. Some lovely places to visit with woods around too. Many different styles of properties to rent.

We find the Lakes very dog friendly, especially Keswick and Kirby Stephen. Not especially near the coast but obviously excellent countryside. It’s hard to find a pub/shop in those two who won’t let the dog in!

Cornwall is/was our favourite for taking the dogs. Bags of dog friendly self catering cottage options, cafes, beaches etc (though to an extent it depends on the time of year as some beaches only allow dogs put of season). It's beautiful and there's so much to do, but still very chilled out (so long as it's not high summer)

Saunton Sands, north Devon - they have dog-friendly cottages right on the beach, each with their own private garden. Surfing lessons/beach cafe 5 min walk away, plus loads of other lovely beaches in the area.

Gower Peninsula?

I found the lake district very dog friendly too. All the cafes we went to allowed the dogs in and most of the shops too.

Cornwall was a place both kids suggested- any recommendations for self catering properties that are beautiful and in a tranquil area but near a sandy beach?

Another vote for Norfolk

Sandyhill log cabins in Scotland. Just up from dumfries, lovely beach, dog friendly, so peaceful with only a pub/swimming pool with sauna in the immediate 10 miles. The views are beautiful.

Wells-next-the Sea in Norfolk. Everyone has a dog there, cockapoo overload. There are also some nice walks, a forest next to the beach and doggy water bowls dotted about everywhere.

Isle of Wight

Northumberland. Stunning beaches, castles and other dog friendly attractions. Plenty of dog friendly places to eat too.

St Ives was beautiful when we had our boxer, we would take trips there.

Polperro in South East Cornwall is utterly beautiful, and very dog friendly.

We stayed in a beautiful animal friendly cottage with a hot tub in Anglesey last year for my birthday. It's attached to the farm home but totally separate. You can even go and visit and hold the baby lambs if it's the right time of year. The owners are the friendliest loveliest people too.
