Love to get a coffee (preferably out in a coffee shop with s flick through newspaper or magazine) sometimes do this when I get out at weekends for the grocery shop. No screaming or hassle. Only works early as customers start to come in mid morning.. ahhh Grin

I have an old rocking chair and footstool deliberately angled where I can’t see the TV, and by a window. I sit in there and read or snooze. I’m really appreciating it at the minute as I’m 7 months pregnant with horrific hip and back pain that makes lying down really painful. I’ve got a feather duvet shoved by the side and a little table for my drink. I do love a bath too but I like them scorching hot which isn’t really an option at the moment.

Spotify, it’s changed my life.
Spotify and good earphones.
I have downloaded every single one of my favourite music.
After the morning madness of getting kids up, dressed, fed and to school, I park as far away from work as I can, put in my ear phones and joyfully walk into work with my wonderful music.

Cleaning/washing/ironing all with Spotify. It makes me happy and calm and chilled.

I read. Reading Sarah Millican at the moment, brilliant.

Box sets and catch up tv, lose myself on that.

Sport. Lots and lots of lovely sport. Lovely.

Go out to a yoga class or similar - takes some organising; I'm ebf a 7 mo old who's only ever fed to sleep and we co sleep... let you know how it goes!

We did get a cleaner (3 hrs a fortnight) but if I'm honest what that does is make us both manically tidy up for her which is actually really helpful in it's self but some weeks I feel it's all I think about all week! The day afterwards is lovely though!

theresaspiderinthesink · 11/01/2019 17:33

Tv apps are very helpful too and a larger phone Grin

I pair things to make the mundane a bit more indulgent - like podcasts or YouTube videos while I clean the kitchen after dinner.

I’ve decided to carve out time for reading this year, so on days where the 3 year old is in nursery, I read while the baby naps. Often even on non-nursery days, DS watches some videos on his tablet for a bit and i’ll read.

I’ve got to grips with housework this last year and more importantly done a huge declutter so that’s it’s easier to keep the house tidy. That means I feel a LOAD less guilt if I sit down instead of doing chores.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 11/01/2019 17:35

Also I create me time by using the Creche at the gym 😄 bung them both in there for an hour (they love it) and either go to gym, class, or half hour gym and half hour cafe 😄

Witchofthenorth · 11/01/2019 18:18

Headphones, audiobook and knitting. All at the same time of course....I can zone out and leave DH with the kids.

MrsKCastle · 11/01/2019 18:22

Crafts mostly: knitting, crochet and painting rocks. Usually with a true crime or mystery podcast running.

tablelegs · 11/01/2019 18:23

Hot bath with essential oils, lots of candles, clean pjs and clean bed sheets.

Leonard1 · 11/01/2019 18:28

Was cake and choc whilst reading but it’s week 2 on a diet so it’s now walking and fruit!!

Bumblebee39 · 11/01/2019 18:31

Can you not have hot baths pregnant then?

A nice hot or cold beverage and a crappy magazine (the crappier the better)

A hot bath and clean pjs also

A hot shower if i don't have time for a bath

A book I've read before or film I've seen before (to fall asleep with/to)

Paint my nails and curl or straighten my hair (for fun I'm a weirdo although it does sometimes stay until the morning
