To ask if you've ever been off a long time with work related stress and gone back

I've been off for 12 weeks and I'm unsure if I will be able to return. Has anyone else been off a long time and gone back to work?

Yes, about 10 years ago I was off for a year and went back for another ten years before eventually leaving. I was medically redeployed with adjustments.

Yes I have. Your company should be offering you a phased return. What makes you feel you can't go back? Is the cause of your stress unresolved or does it just seem like a massive undertaking?x

I was off for 9 weeks and went back - phased return. It was over 10 fairly happy years before things blew up again. I'd say give it a go, make sure you get phased return, and the opportunity to feed back how things are going as you increase your hours - the causes of the stress should have been addressed.

Just the workload really

Yes but my issue is anxiety and depression and I'll be honest it's come back every year or so when triggers arise. It is possible though and 12 weeks isn't actually that long compared to some. Good luck. Xx

If workload is the cause of your stress, have you mentioned it to the company? What measures are they taking to ensure the problem doesn't repeat itself?
