Urgent help needed!

I'm panicking. I've been invited on a last minute break, I am so excited to get away for a bit but then the dread set in. I've been hiding my flabby tummy under baggy jumpers all winter and it's got out of hand. How can i tone up a little and feel a little better around myself around 5 skinny Minnies? 😩

I think you'd be better off reducing bloat and investing in some supportive new beachwear.

Nnnnnineteen · 10/01/2019 21:25

Shred. It's a bastard but it does work. Assuming you do it 6 days a week, properly and don't reward self with chocolate when done.

AriadnePersephoneCloud · 10/01/2019 21:30

Agree with pp, 30 day Shred. I'm currently on day 20 and there's a big difference. It is hard though, but worth it. I feel so much better than I did three weeks ago 😁

everycowandagain · 10/01/2019 21:31

Chloe Madeley's 4 week body blitz. It works!

3littlesandme · 10/01/2019 21:37

@Nnnnnineteen @AriadnePersephoneCloud I need to google shred, can't say I've ever heard of it. I'm willing to not even smell chocolate for the next month!

@everycowandagain oh to have a body like Chloe ( a girl can dream)

30 day shred if you do it all the way through and don't give up because level 2 is hard

SometimesMaybe · 10/01/2019 21:41

Definitely 30 day shred. If you can’t face every day on your day off do Pilates.
Limited carbs and no dairy/meat/caffeine for a week before you go (you’ll be in a dreadful mood but it always help me loose two or three pounds).
No alcohol for the month.
Buy expensive well supported beachwear.

Or accept that that’s all quite hard and your body is lovely really.

3littlesandme · 10/01/2019 21:42

@Redcrayons how many levels are there?!
And will I collapse and want to give up and cancel a quarter of the way through?

OP posts:
3littlesandme · 10/01/2019 21:44

@SometimesMaybe I don't drink alcohol. But I'm a sucker for a packet of crisp of 4 or 5. I can eat healthily when I put my mind to it. My problem is boredom, when Dc3 naps I snack, when I'm cooking I snack, when the dc are in bed etc

summerlovingliz · 10/01/2019 21:48

Slimming world.. you could easily lose half a stone to 10lb and you won't go hungry or have intensive exercise regime

Redcrayons · 10/01/2019 21:50

There's 3 levels, you do 10 days of each. There's two options, demonstrated by helpers Anita and Natalie.
The first few days are the hardest, I'm aching everywhere. But once you get past that, it's bearable. It definitely works, I had a flattish stomach, and my arms and shoulders were nicely toned. I run a lot as well, so didn't find the cardio too difficult.

Never managed a proper push up though.

crispysausagerolls · 10/01/2019 22:15

Yogalates for weight loss is a less hard core option than the shred

DianaT1969 · 10/01/2019 22:25

Find a gym that has a vibration plate machine. Do exercises on it for 15 mins per day (squats/push ups/tricep dips/calf raises/ab crunches) and you'll see results very fast. Need to stretch after. Yoga and pilates too if you can make it.
For the beach - supportive bikini, good shades, stud ear-rings, intense conditioner left in hair, pedicure, nice nails.

Islands81 · 10/01/2019 22:29

Yep 30 day shred will do it. Google before and after pics.

Personally, I’d do this alongside the blood sugar diet, you could easily lose between 0.5-1 stone in a month.

3littlesandme · 11/01/2019 08:08

Just ordered the dvd. Wish me luck

OP posts:
everycowandagain · 11/01/2019 08:15

Good luck! And don't be afraid to mix up the levels if you get bored doing the same one for days in a row. I found level 2 tough on my wrists so tended to alternate it with level 3.

RandomWordsandaNumber5 · 11/01/2019 08:16

I think you have to be realistic about what can be achieved in a month. But you can certainly start building an exercise and eating routine that will be a great start for when you get back off holiday. And you’ll feel much better for having made that start.
Good luck.

Strugglingonagain · 11/01/2019 08:17

Can you keep us updated on how it's going?

FlashingLights101 · 11/01/2019 08:21

See I've tried the shred many times, but I can barely walk for 3 days after the first session... I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I've tried stretches before and after (even though Gillian doesn't do any pre workout stretches) but to no avail ☹️

I think I'm destined to be wobbly forever (because there are literally no other solutions, obviously 😉)

MissSingerbrains · 11/01/2019 08:27

Another vote for the 30 Day Shred - it totally works! Cut down on unhealthy snacks and you’re sorted Smile

Islands81 · 11/01/2019 09:09

@flashinglights - I’ve had the same problem if I’ve started doing it when I’m totally unfit, and I’ve found that just doing the first set of repetitions the first day (so a third of phase 1), and slowly building it up helps. Takes a bit longer than 30 days but at least you don’t feel like you’ve been run over! If it’s your arms that are the main problem, maybe try some lighter weights?

3littlesandme · 11/01/2019 10:40

I'll keep you updated on how it goes.
I'm also going to start walking more and definitely cut out the unhealthy snacks.

OP posts:
hellsbellsmelons · 11/01/2019 10:43

I need to do this.
Off to good 30 day shred!

YeOldeNameChange · 11/01/2019 11:19

We’ve got that DVD somewhere I really should try it
I currently do circuits at home involving weights in conjunction with low carbing. Circuits are doable as there’s variety and it is over quickly! Particularly, cutting out all bread/pasta/rice/potatoes and sugar and artificial sweetener is guaranteed to eliminate bloat for me.

ambereeree · 11/01/2019 13:12

Cut carbs up your lean protein. Don't eat after 6pm. Lots of water no juice. It can be done.
