Urgent help needed!

I'm panicking. I've been invited on a last minute break, I am so excited to get away for a bit but then the dread set in. I've been hiding my flabby tummy under baggy jumpers all winter and it's got out of hand. How can i tone up a little and feel a little better around myself around 5 skinny Minnies? 😩

Make sure you turn the heating off before you do it - it's sweaty!

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 11/01/2019 13:23

Another vote for the shred

3littlesandme · 11/01/2019 22:13

What kinds of exercises are on the dvd? Would I have to go out and buy weights etc?

Itssosunnyout · 12/01/2019 00:36

Can you do the shred whilst breastfeeding?

Nnnnnineteen · 12/01/2019 10:06

N9, you are better off putting the baby down first.

@3littlesandme Inspired by this thread I’ve bought 30 day shred and started today! How are you doing?

3moons · 13/01/2019 11:52

Very funny

3moons · 13/01/2019 11:53

I meant nineteen’s contribution

3littlesandme · 13/01/2019 11:54

@WendyImhome I'm still waiting for mine to arrive in the post

@3littlesandme you need some hand weights, though you may have got the answer to that by now! Let me know when when it comes, I’m up for a shred buddy!

Theimpossiblegirl · 13/01/2019 12:08

What weights do i need? I have the dvd (still in cellophane). :) Would love some buddies as motivation evades me sometimes.

sycamore54321 · 13/01/2019 12:10

Top tip for 30 day shred that for some reason isn’t explicitly stated on the video. When doing the jumping jacks and other jumping moves, don’t just land on your tip-toes or ball of foot. Move your foot all the way to the floor. Otherwise you end up with seriously tight calf muscles and sore shins.

Other than that, yes 30 day shred really works and is so effective for such a short time commitment each day. If you’re worried you won’t do it - schedule it for first thing. Sleep in your workout gear if you have to!

In general OP, for body changes, using your muscles to lift large weights (either body weight exercises or actual weights) is the quickest way to see your shape change. Long blocks of cardio are good for burning off calories/fat and for your heart health, but quickest way to improve your shape if weight based exercise.

WendyImhome · 13/01/2019 14:44

@theimpossiblegirl hand weights really depending on your level, I’m using 2.5k but mainly as that’s all we have in the house!

ScabbyHorse · 13/01/2019 14:54

You can do it. Get some fake tan as well and some new swimwear.

3littlesandme · 13/01/2019 16:47

@sycamore54321 thanks for the tip.

My dvd should arrive in the next couple of days so I'd love some buddies to motivate me when I'm slacking.

There’s usually a jumbo 30-day shred post running over in the Exercise forum.

3littlesandme · 15/01/2019 20:55

I got the DVD. I start tomorrow. Anybody care to join or have already started?

Mummadeeze · 15/01/2019 20:58

No carbs before Marbs! Cutting out nearly all carbs makes you lose weight and time up pretty fast!

3littlesandme · 15/01/2019 21:32

@Mummadeeze that would be tough. I've been putting off the healthy eating but I have no excuse now I start the shred

tigerbear0906 · 15/01/2019 23:51

Iv just ordered 30 day shred from amazon because of this thread! I'd love to join you when it arrives! Need some motivation and encouragement please! Smile

Mummadeeze · 16/01/2019 07:02

Actually if you are doing an extreme exercise routine, you need some carbs. Cutting out all carbs is a short term quick fix if you hate exercising. Good luck with the shred. Sounds like a very effective plan.

Slamadramafamalam · 16/01/2019 07:08

Try intermittent fasting, just skip breakfast, see how you feel at lunchtime, eat then if you're starving and eat dinner then same again tomorrow. Work out BEFORE eating. Fill up with water, if you go low carb you'll pile it all back on and more when you reintroduce carbs.

3littlesandme · 16/01/2019 07:43

@tigerbear0906 welcome. It's day 1 for me today. I'll let you know how I get one.

@Mummadeeze thanks. I'll need it

@Slamadramafamalam I'm not a big breakfast person anyway. I've tried intermittent fasting in the past. Not too long ago I lost half a stone but then piled it back on because I got too comfortable and stopped counting calories

I started a boot camp last week and lost an inch off my waist already - and diet has been bad because I'm so hungry from the exercise!

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 16/01/2019 07:48

Also try Boombod-really helps the cravings as I feel quite full from them so am not eating anywhere near as much as I was-lost 2kilos the first week. Seriously helps the bloat! And also currently on v special offer at Holland and barratt
