ok she isnt the devil incarnated but sometimes i literally want to jump off a cliff. She is so so clingy. she screams bloody murder if I put her down even next to me. Shes a crap sleeper at night and during the day though is improving a little with naps.

its utterly exhausting and im running out of patience. Today i was completing a job application and she just pressed a button and I lost it all. I was so fucking pissed off. She wont play on the floor next to me with her toys. She just wants to be held and even then shes still maoning. My arms are constantly aching. My back hurts from lugging her around everywhere and doing every single thing with her in my arms - cooking, cleaning, everything with her in my arms.

Im at my wits end and cannot take it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there
Have you rule out any problem( teething, beginning of a cold/illness,allergies).My DD had foot & mouth at 11months and for 3 days before the spots appeared she has been super-glued to me day and night. I was at my wits end in those days.
And for job application can you look up during the day, save them and filled them at night after your DC sleeps.

Sleep deprivation is used as a torcher method for a reason, deep breath lovely your doing a great job. Is there someone who can have her to give you a break? I had a d's who didn't sleep but he has adhd, and autism so I know your pain big hugs

I haven’t read the whole thread sorry but have U tried cranial osteopathy? If your baby is crying and needy it could make a big difference. Expensive but worth it in case there is something bothering her

bibbitybobbityyhat · 13/01/2019 19:40

Obviously you need some help with this. Constant screaming at 10 months old is nowhere near normal. Take her to the GP at the very least. And who do you have as back up right now, while your patience is worn thin? This seems to be some sort of crisis or emergency for you. You must ask for rl help if you don't have any.

I had one too. screamed constantly.

He had 2 mornings in a nursery from about 6 months old, which kept my sanity. (He screamed for them too).

We had lots of investigations into various things, plus lots of complimetary therapies and nothing ever made a difference.

He's 12 now and he is still a bit moany, but nothing like he was.

My DS was just like that, very clingy, wouldn't sleep, was never pacified with toys.
He was eventually diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome when he was 4.

I have an 11 month old son who sounds like your baby’s twin! It’s exhausting and beyond frustrating. I really do sympathise. Can’t offer any advice as mine still wakes every 30 mins or so every night and is clingy as can be despite turning 1 in 2 weeks time. I think people think I’m exaggerating when I explain what it’s like. Sorry can’t help but thanks for posting this, thought I was the only one feeling like this. Hugs

Oh OP, it really sounds like you're struggling and I'm really sorry to hear that. My baby is almost 8 months old and I used to call him the devil's spawn. He's still a nightmare now but he's so close to crawling that hopefully he is less moody soon. I suffer from PND so his crying really really slices through me at times.
I'm sorry that I can't suggest anything to help but just know that you're not alone. No one really tells you what to expect with babies and children, do they?

Here are some flowers for you, OP. Flowers
I'm also sending you huge hugs, a cup of your favourite hot beverage and some of my sanity x

I remember that stage well! My dc was never a chilled baby, but not a crier either , just demanding of attention and liked to me near me and kept entertained- totally normal. Do you have a daytime routine, are you both getting out enough? What helped me was putting dc in bouncy chair/ jumperoo and then moving it room to room as I was cleaning/ making dinner. I used to talk / sing constantly especially if I moved away and she couldn't see me. This is an age where separation anxiety takes hold so you may need to put her down with toys and then move away briefly but come back often , giving attention then moving away until it builds up to smaller chunks of time. Good luck! It does get better :-)
