In this weather! It's minus 1!

It's making me irrationally ragey!! Put some fucking clothes on, man.

As soon as he gets home from work he's in shorts and t-shirt. He goes out to the shops or petrol station like it... IN THIS WEATHER!

When his toes go black and drop off in his shoes he'll get no sympathy from me. I'll purse my lips and say "I told you so" and "I hope you're not going to get that gangrene on the bedding"!

I've one of those too. Wears them all day until bonfire night then evenings til March! Funny creatures. Flowers

Lollicent · 09/01/2019 20:16

My DH has worn shorts to watch our DS play rugby in the snow.
He is so odd at times.

Villanellesproudmum · 09/01/2019 20:17

Is he a postman ours wears them whatever the weather including through beast from the east.

FleeceDetective · 09/01/2019 20:17

I’d only be cross if he was insisting on the heating being high up to the Gods. Otherwise it’s fair enough to be comfortable.

PurpleDaisies · 09/01/2019 20:18

It’s his choice. Some people just don’t feel the cold. I’m not sure what there is to be properly angry about.

SillySallySingsSongs · 09/01/2019 20:19

My DH has hos on now.

Odd

StreetwiseHercules · 09/01/2019 20:20

It could be worse. He could be a sandal or flip flop wearer.

I swear people who wear those things have something deeply wrong with them. Nobody’s feet are too hot in shoes.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 09/01/2019 20:20

Double hard bastard is what we call them.

the99 · 09/01/2019 20:23

I find it odd and I don't want to see bare legs and shorts when I'm struggling to be warm in thermal slippers and a fleece. It makes me feel cold and ragey.

Can't he find some cool loose trousers and a long sleeved t-shirt to make me feel better... after all, he should be more concerned for my comfort.

I knew somebody who did that. Thought it was funny/made him look different/smart/clever/one of life's rebels/tough.

Stopped once he decided to go into politics. Seems the Conservative Party thinks people who dress like that are an embarrassment as well. He now wears suits all the time instead.

Trouble is, whenever I have inadvertently heard him pontificating about things, I just see the dipstick in Hawaiian Shorts and Hi-Tec trainers at formal events that were important for his wife's career (and would have her in tears at how he'd always promised her he wouldn't wear shorts to this one). She gave up work.

XmasPostmanBos · 09/01/2019 20:30

Mitzik it is payback time at the next party conference.

pictish · 09/01/2019 20:31

I’ve known a handful of people (all men) who have been like this. I assume if they were cold they’d get changed into trousers. I didn’t think anything of it really. My ds2 is going this way...he’s always in shorts, doesn’t seem to feel the cold.
Leave them to it I say.

FreshlyWashed · 09/01/2019 20:32

Meh

Now socks with sandals, that gives me the rage!

MeganChips · 09/01/2019 20:37

DH does this and it makes me feel the same way!

I always get twitchy when people are inappropriately dressed for the weather. FF will wear long sleeves and jeans when it’s 30 degrees.

Obviously my comfort is way more important than theirs Wink

MeganChips · 09/01/2019 20:37

FF = DD! Don’t know what happened there.

Witchend · 09/01/2019 20:38

Ds wears shorts out in the snow. He objects to trousers.

Disquieted1 · 09/01/2019 20:40

It's going to get colder. He'll soon be minus 2.

BackBoiler · 09/01/2019 20:41

@Villanellesproudmum My mums postman wears a skirt all year round Grin

the99 · 09/01/2019 20:43

In fairness the the man he dresses appropriately for work.

Unless trousers are literally boiling the blood in his legs he should be wearing them. It's winter... in the UK. We don't live in a tropical greenhouse.

I'm raising children with this man. He's their role model. I despair.

DS has just gone out in shorts. To be fair, he's going to play football, but has to walk 20 minutes to get there. Why not put joggers in over the top?!

theworldistoosmall · 09/01/2019 20:48

I don't feel the cold.
Heat makes me feel uncomfortable, itchy, and if I'm there for too long I start to feel dizzy. Have thrown up a few times as well.
At home, my bedroom door is closed and the window open so the others can have the heating on.

the99 · 09/01/2019 20:48

He's just walked in from the shop, in shorts, saying "brrrrr it's cold out there", wearing shorts... did I mention he's wearing shorts!

OP posts:
jessstan2 · 09/01/2019 20:50

A lot of people are more comfortable in shorts. I don't see anything wrong with it. Years ago all small boys wore short trousers to school and no-one batted an eyelid, some schools still have those as regulation uniform up to a certain age. The boys had red and blue blotchy legs and knees, no-one complained.

Loafing around in shorts is fine, it's good to relax.

AllTakenSoRubbishUsername · 09/01/2019 20:50

Haha, it's an odd thing to get angry about! If he's comfortable what's the issue?

the99 · 09/01/2019 20:51

No one complained because they would've got the cane!
