A woman in the supermarket the other day had her toddler with her, must've been about 3 years old and she filled her entire trolley full of baby jars (cleared the shelf) and I overheard her say to her boyfriend "this should all last for a week if she has 3 of them a day"

Surely this is just... not right?! I am probably being judgmental here but how long does it take to cook a meal, maybe a spag bol or sausages and mash? Them jars taste like shit as well. When I gave one to my son when he was first weaned and we was out visiting family, it smelt of sick & even he spat it out Envy

If the child is three I'd think all else being equal they were too big for jars full stop and so yes it would have been surprising to think that's all they were getting. Even a portion of an adult ready meal would be preferable if home cooking really isn't an option.

We can't help but infer whats going on based on what we see and hear. We might not have all the information of course but tbh I'd have found that surprising too.

Currently this country has a real obesity crisis - we can't avoid it as it's constantly in the news. I think as parents we're all responsible for how we choose to feed our children and I can't help but wonder if there is a link between increasing obesity and children being raised on manufactured baby foods. Sorry if my thoughts go against the grain on this thread but I'm just putting it out here for consideration.

I think a lot of children will 'demolish' food from jars because it's full of sugar. That's why they all like McDonalds.

We can Bait but as has been said many times over on this thread the reasons for buying the jars isn't clear hell it might not even be for a child you can t make assumptions based on a snapshot well you can but you would look like a bit of dick, incidentally I wouldn't choose to feed my child, noodles and cheese slices but often this is all he will eat he has severe autism and learning disabilities.

You have no idea what happens in her life
This may well be me in a supermarket you could of seen who daughter has complex health needs ( but you wouldn’t be able to see her IV line or feeding tube under clothes.
Who after 5 years of having no nornall food is being weaned to save her liver and I will give her anything she wants at the moment it’s HIPP spaghetti bolegnese baby pots
