I don't like....
Vegetables,
Fruit,
Fish?

There are so many different varieties of each! And they all tastes different! Surely there must be some that you like?!

The only seafood I really can't stand is sea urchin. Fortunately not something I have been served frequently! It really is disgusting. Eels are vile as well.

I will eat all other seafood, veg & fruit - some things I like more than others obviously.

Incidentally, my formative years were spent eating pork chops, processed peas, carrots, an inordinate amount of potatoes, frozen veg, tinned stuff, mince and onions and fray bentos (and more potatoes) so I was raised on a fairly limited diet but it doesn't limit my choices as an adult. I was always keen to taste different cuisines / foods and expand my culinary horizons! Maybe I'm just a terrible glutton / dustbin and will eat anything!

Apart from my two exceptions yanbu ( If talking about adults).

I'm with you on fruit and veg... but I am another fish hater.

Eliza9917 · 08/01/2019 23:27

I understand the fish thing.

I only really like tinned tuna, would never eat a tuna steak, they aren't cooked enough for me and white fish ie cod, pollock, basa, plaice, haddock.

Salmon is too 'fishy' and smoked mackerel is too much in normal portions, I can only eat a little bit. Though mackerel pate is delicious.

I wouldn't eat raw fish sushi. Although I eat caviar I'd never touch cod roe from the chippy.

I love shellfish & seafood though.

I like most fish, I don't 'like' any veg but I eat most types because I feel I should. I don't like any fruit really, I might eat the odd banana or apple but that's about it, don't like any type of berries or grapes, I hate the squishy texture.

toriatoriatoria · 08/01/2019 23:38

I'm one of the "don't eat vegetables" people. There are a few exceptions, I will eat sweetcorn, raw broccoli, raw peas and raw carrots (and cooked peas if pushed) but that is it. I've tried pretty much every type of vegetable Tesco have to offer, but I just don't like them. It's both the texture and the taste.

GloryforGloves · 08/01/2019 23:46

It's both the texture and the taste.

I agree with PP - I don’t get this. Okay, you do eat some veggies so I won’t be too hard on you, but the tastes and textures of vegetables vary massively. Raw spinach is absolutely nothing mashed swede - taste of texture wise. Not to mention that the same fruit or veg can have wildly different flavours and textures depending on type, season and where they are from (those awful cheap, bland, waxy salad tomatoes vs beautifully sweet vine-ripened baby plum tomatoes).

I'm with the OP.

As a generalisation I'll say I love it all, however mussels are not very nice imo, and octopus is just very chewy squid which isn't so appealing when your trying to actually eat a meal and I don't agree with eating shark /rays etc.
I'm also not a fan of avacado, or uncooked pepper.

But in saying that, there's hundreds I do really enjoy, like prawn, anchovies, perissimon, Sharon fruit, sweet potato, red onion etc etc.

I'll very rarely not try something at least once or twice.

Only british cuisine? Don't you get bored? There's only so many fry ups and roast dinners I can eat 😂

Nope, in my 70s and not bored yet. British cuisine is about so much more than roasts and fry ups (rarely eat the latter).
