I don't like....
Vegetables,
Fruit,
Fish?

There are so many different varieties of each! And they all tastes different! Surely there must be some that you like?!

Fattymcfaterson · 08/01/2019 18:03

Don't get me wrong, I don't personally eat all varieties of each but I've been reading so many diet threads lately where people are saying "I want to lose weight, but I don't like any veg. Wha should I eat?"

Confused

I dont like all sea and have never eaten it. I think its gross tbh I wouldnt go near it. The smell
alone is enough for me and well like I said just seems gross.

PookieDo · 08/01/2019 18:05

Loads of people hate veg as they hate the texture.

My DC and I do not but I know people who hate it. They also hate that it’s ‘dirty’ has mud on and maybe bugs. They don’t think it tastes of anything

I love veg but someone just don’t

PookieDo · 08/01/2019 18:07

I am dieting and it is usually

Break: Porridge oats with water or skimmed milk
1 bit of fruit
Lunch: Huge salad with all kinds of veg and a giant portion of chicken/turkey
Dinner: stir fry more veg more meat
Yoghurt

babysharkah · 08/01/2019 18:08

I hate fish. All fish. Genuinely hate it.

GruciusMalfoy · 08/01/2019 18:09

I don't like fish. I don't like the texture, the taste or smell, or the "risk" of bones. I have a varied diet otherwise, so don't feel a need to try endless fish dishes in case there's on I will tolerate. Not a big deal really.

SachaStark · 08/01/2019 18:09

Scallops and mussels and crabs are NOTHING alike, whatsoever. How can you think they all "taste the same"?!

Like I said though, all of y'all with your, "I hate all fish, but I'll eat tuna mayo." Hmm 1, that's a fish, then, 2, you are limiting yourself to the most dull and bland example of fish. You need to try GOOD, well prepared and beautifully cooked fish. Come to Cornwall, we can HOOK you up with some Wink

SwearyInn · 08/01/2019 18:11

LoadOfUtterBoswellocks

does the OP really deserve such a pollocking?

or were you being sharkastic?

GruciusMalfoy · 08/01/2019 18:12

Oh gods, the smell of tuna is the worst.

Clionba · 08/01/2019 18:14

I just can't stand the smell of fish.
A colleague took to bringing fish soup for lunch, heating it on the microwave.
I nearly murdered her in cold blood.
The smell!!
It lingered in the microwave.

Houseonahill · 08/01/2019 18:14

The only veg i like are carrots and parsnips (and potatoes if they count?) so it's easier to just say I don't like veg than get super specific.

Clionba · 08/01/2019 18:14

"in the microwave", of course

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/01/2019 18:16

@SachaStark That's my DH, right there!! We live in a coastal town; we can, and I do, literally get fish straight from the boat but he 'doesn't like fishy fish'. Will happily eat unspecified 'fish' and chips and tuna pasta bake though...

FloralTeacup · 08/01/2019 18:18

I find it interesting when people who otherwise hate fish, like tuna... I find it one of the most unbearable forms! Akin with tinned salmon, etc. Just awful!

I’m someone who will only eat white fish though. Oh, and I ate calamari without knowing what it was... such a posh, varied palate I have Wink

DontTouchTheMoustache · 08/01/2019 18:19

People who say they dont like cheese. First of all, how dare you? And secondly a baked camambert is a totally different kettle of fish to chedder or parmasan or ricotta.

Fattymcfaterson · 08/01/2019 18:20

Loving all the fish puns 😂

Mmm tinned salmon mashed up with vinegar.... Nom nom

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 08/01/2019 18:20

I am quite happy with my tuna mayo and believe it or not I know it's a fish. Hmm But the best bit is that in a sandwich with mayo you can't tell it's a fish.

Eating other fish especially all the looking out for bones and virtually having to operate on it on the plate sometimes while it's looking at you -no thanks.

Same as crab and lobster-cracking something's legs off? I will pass on that.

Sparklingbrook · 08/01/2019 18:22

Baked Camembert makes me feel sick, Parmesan smells like sick.

I like a bit of Black Bomber Cheddar or some Brie.

Theknacktoflying · 08/01/2019 18:24

Fresh fruit and vegetables are delicious ... none of this picked green to ripen nonsense ...

Depends on type of fish - love kippers, anchovies, pilchards and some game fish ..

feellikeanalien · 08/01/2019 18:24

This thread is making me want to eat a big Portuguese seafood platter. There's nothing like really fresh mussels, clams, crab, oysters and prawns along with percebes (a type of shellfish which I've only had in Portugal).

Really fresh seafood tastes so much nicer than what is served up in most of the restaurants in the UK.

pineapplebryanbrown · 08/01/2019 18:26

Hate all fish, i hate Fridays in canteens you can just smell the all pervasive terribleness everywhere.

Like most fruit and most vegetables except aubergines (evil slime) and mushrooms (taste of doom).

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 08/01/2019 18:32

I worked with a man who’s doctrine on food was nae rabbit food
Upon being paid he’d buy month worth of tinned soup and microwave meals
Ate nowt of colour his food group was beige.never ate veg, fish, fruit.ever
Probably thought quavers was part of his 5 a day
Consequently he was grey,a cadaver had more colour, and always unwell

Hoopaloop · 08/01/2019 18:49

Seafood is all grim and should be banned, for obvious reasons.

SuziQ10 · 08/01/2019 19:00

No, fish all tastes fishy and had a texture that turns my stomach.

Agree with you on the fruit and veggies.

Sparklingbrook · 08/01/2019 19:22

Does anyone really walk into a fish market, smell the air and think 'ooh yum'?!
