My last period was in August. Don't know why they stopped, stress maybe. Well, it has arrived with a rather annoying back pain today. And I'm no longer used to it. Has anyone any sympathy for me? I'm in pain!!

I have taken paracetamol. About 5 minutes ago.

It's funny how you get so unaccustomed to the pain.

You have my sympathy!

KatnissMellark · 08/01/2019 13:39

Heat packs, ibuprofen and chocolate Flowers

I'm actually a bit jealous as my period has been delayed by fucking IVF which has fucking failed, and is now delaying me starting fucking IVF again Angry

Bodies are frustrating!

sar302 · 08/01/2019 13:39

And mine! Alternate ibuprofen and paracetamol. And possibly chocolate...

sar302 · 08/01/2019 13:40

Cross post!

explodingkitten · 08/01/2019 13:42

I always found that they were worse if they stayed away too long. Ibuprofen or naproxen really helps. Be kind to yourself.

Snoz · 08/01/2019 13:43

Oh, hadn't thought to alternate with ibuprofen. Good plan. I can't be arsed with this shite.

OP posts:
explodingkitten · 08/01/2019 13:43

You can take the ibuprofen or naproxen next to the paracetamol. Tbh paracetamol did fuck all for me any time that I was in pain. I often wonder if it isn't just a placebo.

Snoz · 08/01/2019 13:45

Katniss. I don't know much about IVF but sorry to hear your body is deciding to be a goady fucker.

I am in the same place. First since September due to the pill I'm on.

Was it always this painful?! I'm totally drained too.

Foamybanana93 · 08/01/2019 14:23

You have my sympathy I have the worst periods monthly I have to take time off work as they can be so painful, chill out with some chocolate, hot water bottle and your favourite tv series or Netflix FlowersCake

Snoz · 08/01/2019 14:24

No, not always this painful. Although I seemed to alternate months, with pain one month, then pmt the next one with no pain.

I have now eaten two massive meals.
I hate this!
I have now taken two paracetamol and two ibuprofen and I'm still in pain. I never get pain like this! And I'm not liking it! I promise to have sympathy for people saying they have painful periods for ever more.

As someone who is currently sitting with a heat pad on my bits, I completely empathise. I've taken 2 Solpadeine and it hasn't even touched the sides, I hate perimenopause.

EggFrenzy · 08/01/2019 14:25

You have my sympathy - it is odd how it is possible to forget just how bad a bad one is!

Laiste · 08/01/2019 14:28

Just finishing mine. A day to go maybe.

Last month i was 2 weeks late! ''Hooray!'' i thought after taking a neg preg test 35 years of periods are coming to an end. But no, i came on. On day 42. And this cycle has been bang on 28 days long as usual. sigh.

Enough now surely?

Bambamber · 08/01/2019 14:30

I sympathise! Can you use a hot water bottle? A bit of heat always helps me. Make sure you don't put it directly on your skin if you do use one

Snoz · 08/01/2019 14:31

It's like a searing 'white' pain. Does that make any sense? It's just pure pain. Bastard thing. Why so painful all of a sudden? Probably the combined pain of 4 months.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 08/01/2019 14:31

There must be something in the water. I'm only a few days late but boy, can I tell. Usually pain-free but not this time. Feel sick as well, and only have paracetamol to hand.

Snoz · 08/01/2019 14:31

I actually don't possess a hot water bottle!

OP posts:
Snoz · 08/01/2019 14:33

Going to lie down. And cry or something.

AssassinatedBeauty · 08/01/2019 14:37

Here is a link to how to make a safe alternative hot water bottle substitute. Also links to how to use a sock and any grain (eg rice) to make a heat pad.
