Flyingfish2019 · 08/01/2019 04:18

Iddsocksandmeatball Oh, I am sorry to hear. I thought about something different when i heard special needs. I thought of learning disabilities and thought: children without learning disabilities are poor sleepers too.
Sorry for the comment.

Flyingfish I’ve got oramorph and an anti-sickness medication, neither of which are working tonight. Been signed off work too as I’m in such a state. Not sure how long I can go on like this for, to be honest!

Kukumbr · 08/01/2019 04:21

Flyingfish2019 · 08/01/2019 04:24

Ontario
Well, I am not a doctor. I think I have heard of oramorph and that it typically is a pretty good painkiller... but maybe it is not right for you... would it be possible to talk to your gp again?

@emmeline I hope you get some sleep. My 5w old refused to nap at all yesterday in the day and had had a bad night. I feel you. This too will pass (I tell myself several times a day)

AntsMarching · 08/01/2019 04:30

I’m watching football (American football). My university is in the title game and I can’t sleep until it’s over, in the next 30 minutes.

ShannonRockallMalin · 08/01/2019 04:33

In agony with tooth abscess. Waiting for the next time I can take painkillers.

notsorighteousthesedays · 08/01/2019 04:38

Husband suddenly upped and abandoned me and kids 6 weeks ago - waking early hours every night to worry about the future and try and make sense of the past.
I know it's counter productive and a complete waste of time but I can't break out of the loop.
My sympathies to everyone struggling to regain some control in their lives.

AlanThePig · 08/01/2019 04:38

The wind has gotten up here, whipped the window open and the gale just blew the en suite door open with a bang into the wall.
Rational me knows it's the wind but still gave me a hell of a fright. Dh in spare room tonight as well as he's full of cold. Just need ten minutes for my heart rate to return to normal Grin

Nonameslob · 08/01/2019 04:45

I've done quite well for me tonight as I've slept 12-4. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and wake up in pain every night at some point. I then get really sleepy about an hour before it's time to get up! It's comforting to know there are others awake but sorry you are all struggling too.

Oratorio · 08/01/2019 04:50

I’ve just had to wake my husband up and he’s calling 111 as I’m in so much pain

AGHHHH · 08/01/2019 04:51

I've slept 3 hours in the past 2 days. I don't know why my body doesn't let me sleep. It's in its own interests.

Cunt.

Flyingfish2019 · 08/01/2019 04:52

Sad all the best wishes, Ontario. I am sure they will know how to help.

It's "only" midnight here, but I have had a huge problem with insomnia since childhood - fortunately, I am retired, and don't have to get up in the morning.

I've made some changes, and will be off to bed soon... hopefully to sleep, perchance to dream.

Applecrumble79 · 08/01/2019 05:02

First day back to work after the Christmas period. Start work in 3 hours so it’s the anxiety kicking in!!

FrannySalinger · 08/01/2019 05:05

I woke up about 30 minutes ago. I am having a cup of mint tea then going for a run; it's going to be dark until gone 7 so I may as well get it done now. I can't wait for the mornings to get lighter.

orangejuicer · 08/01/2019 05:06

Awake with my almost 7 week old, who I think has just gone off to sleep.

Flyingfish2019 · 08/01/2019 05:09

So, dh still did not get up. Wonder if he decided to get up later this time or if there is anything wrong will his cell phone (has his alarm clock on his cell phone), wonder if I should wake him. Often I do because he does not hear his alarm clock, but Nowitzki did not ring.

Feel stupid for not trying to go back to sleep instead of starting this thread.

Been up since 4 with a fever and sore throat. Feeling rotten.

SadCupcake · 08/01/2019 05:10

I fell asleep at 8pm and woke at 3am so have had a full rest and now don't know what to do with myself.
41 weeks and just desperate for baby to come now.

WoahBodyforrrm · 08/01/2019 05:10

I collapsed at home and had a seizure just as I was getting in the bath. My 12yo DS found me and called an ambulance. I’ve been in a&e ever since (8pm) as there are not beds on the ward. I’m due to have a craniotomy on Thursday to remove some tumour that has regrown in my brain since my original diagnosis and surgery in 2015. I haven’t had seizures up to this point and am absolutely terrified that my tumour has transformed to a higher grade or spread elsewhere in my brain.

My kids are 11, 7 and twins of 6 and they all saw me collapsed and are also terrified.

I feel angry that this has happened to me.

I want someone to tell me I will be here to see my kids grow up. They deserve that much. They’re the most wonderful children I could ever have hoped for.
