Sorry to hear, heron.
Now I feel very bad that I felt sorry for myself for being deprived of sleep and some of you have such sad reasons for not sleeping.

DCs and dh who is an insomniac often keep me awake... but well... that’s a good reason to be awake compared with others.

QueenAnneBoleyn · 08/01/2019 03:41

Woke up feeling hot and stuffy. DH snoring his head off......... Hmm

icouldwriteabook · 08/01/2019 03:43

Because my 1week old thinks it’s fun to sleep all day and drink milk all night!

Flyingfish2019 · 08/01/2019 03:45

Icouldwriteabook Ds, Now 4, used to be like this. I solved the problem by waking him up several times each day so that he realized it was day time.

Combination of insomnia and worry about DD (16) having suspected blood clot. Spent 6 hrs in hospital yesterday to be let out at 10.30pm and back later today for a scan. Got a report to finish by 12pm today for work so contemplating getting up at 6 to do that. Wonder what time scan dept opens as waiting for call with appt time.

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/01/2019 03:46

Always awake at this time in the winter as I’m exhausted by early in the evening in the darker months. I hate GMT.

tryinganewname · 08/01/2019 03:47

Settling 6 month old DD who only wants to sleep on her side but isn't strong enough to maintain the position without rolling back and waking herself up Sad. She's propped up until she's into deep sleep and then I'll roll her myself.

kateandme · 08/01/2019 03:49

ooo id love to be up for a puppy!

BovrilOverkillOhMyInsides · 08/01/2019 03:49

Combination of insomnia and what now looks like a bacterial stomach infection.
I've made myself a camp in the lounge because our sofa won't be here for a month. We've not even lived here a month yet, that's why it looks untidy af

My 8 week old is having a fussy night. Only wants to sleep sitting upright against my chest. Hmm Struggling a bit now to be honest as I didn't get any sleep in the day as daddy is back at work. Deep breaths, one step at a time....

Jellyjumpers · 08/01/2019 03:51

In pain from endometreosis, and not sure if i should be referrwed for more surgery.

Sorry to hear all the sad reasons.

kateandme · 08/01/2019 03:53

androbbob sorry about your dd.
try to lie down or close you eyes.you might not sleep but just sitting and resting is what you need to be able to be strong and well for your and your dd. just don't think "I need to sleeeeeep!" just think im going to rest now.
at least you've been seen.your getting it sorted so you doing all you can.i know its scary but that is the most you can do right now so try not to let your far tell your head if,hows,buts.whats.big hugs.
does work need to happen.could thy let you have times becsue of dd.
to put your mind at rest in wondering could you look up your local scan centre and see opening times.that way your not constantly jolting to attention thinking they might ring?

kateandme · 08/01/2019 03:55

BovrilOverkillOhMyInsides aww bless you. I know its not ideal but think of all the times as a kid you would have loved to have a camp in the lounge!hugs.

auffahren · 08/01/2019 03:58

I'm "sleep training" DD2. I was trying rapid return but she got so upset that I gave in an cuddles her. I left her a few minutes ago telling her that Mummy needs to sleep and I'll see her in the morning. Currently waiting to see if she comes back out again before I do try to sleep.

GinIsIn · 08/01/2019 03:59

Toddler. No additional needs, he’s just about to turn 2 though so we are entering prime arsehole territory. Currently he has decided he will only sleep if his face is glued to mine, whilst I read to him. So I’m telling him that classic story: once upon a time there was a mummy who was so sleep deprived she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, of her child didn’t GO THE FUCK TO SLEEP

Oratorio · 08/01/2019 04:01

So sorry to those with sad or worrying reasons xx

For me it’s another attack of what I think is gallstones, though I’ve not yet had a scan. Oramorph not working. I’m currently rocking in pain and throwing up bile (can’t eat at all at the moment), shivering.

I have endometriosis too, and yet I think this pain is even worse. It’s been horrendous for about three days now. Can’t keep any food down, no appetite, dizzy, and of course bloody agony.

Flyingfish2019 · 08/01/2019 04:05

Sorry to hear. Have you asked your gp for pain medication?

Flyingfish2019 · 08/01/2019 04:06

I wonder if it makes sense to try to sleep. Dh is going to get up in about an hour.

My 4 month old is a terrible sleeper and I can't get him.out of my arms. So I have to stay awake.

I'm terrible at this.

BumbleBeee69 · 08/01/2019 04:12

Im in Florida, its 23:12 Smile

Babbaganoush · 08/01/2019 04:15

Baby needs feeding.

@Mississippilessly you're not terrible Thanks I was where you are a couple of months ago. It does get better.

Oddsocksandmeatballs · 08/01/2019 04:15

Working, looking after a little one with a tracheostomy who needs someone awake 24/7. Having a child with additional needs is very different from most children's sleepless nights/broken nights, sitting awake night after night monitoring your child's breathing or watching them have seizure after seizure is a world apart from what most of us experience when our child has bad nights.
