AIBU to tell you all that the Lidl Christmas cake is the closest thing I've ever tasted to home-cooked Christmas cake?

And it has nuts!
It's actually gorgeous. I bought it a few days ago at half price and genuinely, it tastes like a home cooked Christmas cake (that my mother used to cook 6 weeks before Christmas and then add whisky to periodically).
I know it's January, but I ignored Christmas apart from this invasion.

Has anyone else had it?

Not had the Christmas cake, but Lidl were killing it this year! Speculoose cheesecake, the choc orange mince pies, little cheese tarts in the party food section.

Again, I'll mention the choc orange mince pies. I bought 6 boxes and am down to the last one. It will be a sad day when they are finished!

Oh, choc orange is my favourite!!!!!!!
Aldi apparently smashed the sale levels this year, but don't have one near me so can't comment on their offerings.

I highly rate the Lidl mincemeat. It makes the best mince pies.

What a shame to find this out now Sad

Yes the Christmas cake is just like home made, in fact it was better than the one I made. I'm hoping they still have some left when I go there.

They had a small section of left over Christmas stuff when I was there on the 3rd I think, but I'd say probably all gone now. It's gorgeous isn't it! You'd easily pass it off as home cooked!
