AIBU to ask why some people on mumsnet always suspect everybody is a dm journalist

Such as on the “How old is too old thread“ but I have also seen it happen on other threads before.
How old is too old is a very normal question to my mind.

I think a lot of people are suspicious because the DM is notorious for lifting "stories" from here.

It's not just the Daily Mail, it's other tabloids too, TV shows and various students doing dissertations etc.

It doesn't help if someone name changes to ask such a normal question either.

As above, I think it’s just because a lot of AIBU threads get lifted and printed, so those who are on this board see it a lot. I think there’s also a suspicion that journalists bait posters with an open topic and use that for a story, which is kind of lazy.

Because the usernames are also almost always a random name with a number at the end of it 🙄

I've reported several this week and they've been removed afaik.
