30 hours free nursery on maternity

Am I being unreasonable to think i am entitled to this. The nursery seems to think no. I'm still employed while on maternity so why not?
I applied on line and it said i would get a message with a decision.

You are absolutely entitled, I’m on maternity leave and my DS gets the 30, I’m assuming they are the right age for the 30 free hours? It’s on gov website

kaytee87 · 07/01/2019 12:59

You're still employed so yes you'll be entitled.

ambereeree · 07/01/2019 12:59

Yes she turned 3 last September. Was your decision instant or get a message?

You’ll have missed the deadline for this term though.

ambereeree · 07/01/2019 13:04

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat why is that?

The cut off was 31st December.

Whatshouldonedo · 07/01/2019 13:08

You definitely get it, but yes the deadline has passed

You'll get it from after the easter break though

masterstef · 07/01/2019 13:09

Government criteria is that you (both) need to be employed - this explicitly includes maternity leave. It's clear-cut on the govt website.
Nurserys opinion doesn't matter, just check the actual source.

PotteringAlong · 07/01/2019 13:10

Yes, as others have said you’re entitled to it but you’ve applied to late for this term. You will get it from easter now.

ambereeree · 07/01/2019 13:23

Ahhh ok. That's a pain. Thanks all for telling me.
