A Mercedes driver decided to drink and drive and (without injuring anybody else or damaging anybody else's car) hit a hedge and badly damaged his car, was arrested and is going to court. Good!

Is the car brand relevant?

I was waiting at traffic lights yesterday when an Audi driver, who had parked on the pavement, drove past the queue (on the pavement) and through the red light and waited on the junction in front of all the cars that were queuing properly.

I'm sure someone can come up with a similar story for any brand of car. I've seen some complete dorks in Nissans, Vauxhalls, you name it... German cars do seem to particularly attract them, though.

I'm hardly going to be jealous of a drunk driver with a trashed car. I mentioned the make as it was in the article.

No, what would have served the drink driver right is if rather than a hedge, he instead would have smashed into a solid brick wall at speed, which would have launched him through his windowscreen, impaling his head so hard into the aforementioned wall that he would have been able to kiss his own colon.
THAT would have served him right.
