To ask if Hermes are always shit or if I just have bad experiences?

More of a rant really.

I ordered vacuum cleaner bags from amazon and paid for priority delivery as I have a rental inspection on Tuesday and mine is almost full.

Stayed home all day to wait delivery today. Just checked tracking as I am surprised it still hasn’t arrived - apparently it was delivered by Hermes at 1315 today!! I’ve been home all day, nobody has rung my doorbell and I have been working in the front room so would have seen anyone approach the property.

This is the third time Hermes has done this to me. No delivery note through letter box and no sign that delivery has been attempted. Address is correct, unchanged and we have a drive and an easily accessible street. Aaaaaaarrrrggghh!!!!

Amazon is investigating and will send out a replacement which will now not arrive before Tuesday.

Has anyone else had absolutely shit experiences with Hermes? Do they actually deliver or do they randomly throw parcels into the Thames?

They are appalling. My dh bought an Xbox from amazon to be delivered by Hermes.

He stayed in all day then received a text saying no one was in and they had taken it back to the depot. There was no card through the door.

My dh asked amazon to investigate and Hermes continually insisted that they had been to our house.

Amazon tracked the van and it hasn't been anywhere near our house.

Hermes then admitted that the van was too full so they left it in the warehouse and pretended to attempt delivery.

I had an item I needed for Christmas completely disappear in the Hermes depot.

I think the lack of cards mean that half the time they don’t even attempt delivery. So many times I’ve waited in all day and they claim to have knocked.

Other than that they lob it on to people’s gardens (or don’t tell them) or out it in the bin.

Surely something has to be done?

Very much depends on your local courier - at one address I lived at I'd avoid Hermes because the service was so awful; where I live now the opposite is true and the local courier is really good.

Exactly what happened to me. It tracked to their depot and was then eventually declared lost.

I was given a refund by the company that I ordered from but who loses that money - the retailer or hermes? If hermes how can they afford to lose money like this?

Had heroes strike again yesterday throwing a LIGHT over our gate. Box has fragile written all over it. He put a card through the door with nothing on it at all.
