I have been on here since ds was tiny - probably 16 years Shock. However lately I have noticed people replying with just a letter. Often q or f. Have I missed something? Please can anyone explain Smile

y?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 06/01/2019 13:55

F means following. It’s lazy and rude if you ask me.

PositivelyPERF · 06/01/2019 13:55

Q?

ChakiraChakra · 06/01/2019 13:55

F

ChakiraChakra · 06/01/2019 13:56

(Sorry couldn't resist!)

I have just gone back to the thread where I thought I saw the q and it isn't there so maybe is isn't a q. Thank you for explaining the f though Smile

Because they don't know they can hit the down arrow on a post and hit watch thread or are too lazy to do so?

stopitandtidyupp · 06/01/2019 14:02

I think its rude too.

How do you watch a thread though in the app? Swiping left gives me bookmark, report and share.

stopitandtidyupp · 06/01/2019 14:04

Sorry I see you have to do it on the actual title!

Witchofzog · 06/01/2019 14:09

I think it's the equivalent of standing right next to people and eavesdropping on a conversation without adding anything to it. Either contribute to the discussion or just follow the thread. If everyone did this then what would be the point of this forum?

I think it depends.

If the post is something along the lines of "Looking for things to do with toddlers in Macclesfield", I don't think it is particularly rude, just shorthand for "This is something I'm interested in as well."

If the post is more along the lines of "My teenager is pregnant, the dog died and my husband just announced that he wants to be called Susan", then it really is just fucking rude rubber-necking. Nothing useful to say, but just want to gawp at your life.

FortunesFave · 06/01/2019 14:28

I don't like it either but I can't decide which is worse...that or people commenting on very dramatic threads such as "My husband has run off with the other woman and I'm in labour"

And they comment "Oh no...I hope it works out"

Which is just a more polite way of saying "f" isn't it?

BlackPrism · 06/01/2019 15:37

Could've been a b rather than a q... means bump to try and get more people to view and reply

Witchofzog · 06/01/2019 16:17

Oh yes. Possibly a b. Thank you Smile
