Looking for ski jacket. I'm size 8. Want something light, nice, slim cut. Anyone any advice?

I’ve always bought mine from Snow & Rock as there is a huge one near us with lots of choice. However I’ve just picked up stuff for DS today in Sports Direct when we were buying football boots. They had some surprisingly good jackets and trousers in marked down by 70%.

Both when I lived with DP and once more recently I've gone to local independent ski wear shops. Good advice and able to order in my size. Just give it a decent amount of time.

Another vote for Snow & Rock.

Carbon do nice ski stuff. Also Helly Hanson, North Face, arc'teryx and Patagonia.

Snow and rock.

Snow and Rock, Surfdome or Snowboard Asylum in the UK. Or direct from Burton/HH/Nikita etc if you know what you want.

Or if you have a serviceable jacket already, buy in the resort. Far more choice, and probably a sale on if you go in Feb/March.

H&M actually do surprisingly good kids’ ski wear - I live in Canada and DS’s snowpants and mitts are all from H&M. Cheap enough that I can have a few pairs for when nursery mislay them again (fucking weekly occurrence). Bogs/Sorel for snowboots, brisk resale market for those specific brands so I don’t mind the high initial cost, I make half of it back again. Again if you are going skiing I would try to buy locally, there’s far more choice. You can order online and get it delivered to your hotel/chalet. The Canadian H&M website has totally different stuff to the UK one.

Surfanic does good quality ski clothes. They deliver next day and have free returns. I ordered from them last year and was really pleased with their product and service.

Snow and Rock here.

Aldi has decent cheap ski gear, or tkmaxx. I bought the aldi ski trousers a few years ago for going up the mountains near me and I was sweating underneath, definitely didn't need the thermals.
