I've got an aunt who's very lovely but quite eccentric and doesn't always respect boundaries of the social norm. No learning difficulties just a very extrovert personality.
I've got a pleasant neighbour who's always polite and makes conversation with my few family members when they visit and they bump into one another, the usual hello good morning how are you type of thing - they are by no means friends just polite acquaintances.
Aunt likes to get out and about but doesn't drive, neighbour does. Aunt has began suggesting she asks neighbour to take her places she'd like to go for days out "because he's a nice man and he drives" and she'd throw him some money for petrol, or to come and do some DIY at her flat.
We had a bit of a disagreement because I firmly asked her not to pester my neighbours for favours. He gave her a lift home once to be kind as it was getting late, but now she thinks he's a friend who she can ask to do things for her. Lifts, odd jobs etc.
Aibu to be mortified and think this reflects badly on me?
