MargueritaPink I'm going to say this just in case you are not being deliberately offensive or making a personal attack by calling me racist or ageist but simply don't get it.
Those pictures are by a respected photographer and are social commentary of what has happened to London as a result of the rise of the international super rich over the last 20 years.
They were taken around the time of the beginning of Boris Johnson's tenure as London Mayor. That was the time when that part of London became the money-laundering capital of the world with people putting dirty money into London property with impunity. That is a shame and a stain on my city.
But anyway. There is the phenomenon of the Ramadan Rush when very rich people from Arab nations come to European cities to escape the heat and party. London is a favourite. It's not racist to point that out. It's a thing. Google it.
It's a time of quite breathtaking excess when people drive around the streets of Knightsbridge in Lamborghinis and Bugatti Veyrons - that's a car costing £1 million. A car. That costs. £1 million. Think about it. And there are not just only one
Porsches are seen as runabouts. There was an incident where a traffic warden outside Harrods was told not to clamp an illegally-parked car because the council didn't want to risk damaging the wheel that probably cost about £10K.
Are you beginning to see the issue now? But if you can't then I can't explain it to you.
I don't believe I am racist and I am absolutely solid that as a 55-year-old woman I am not ageist
I think it's insulting of you to repeatedly make those accusations but I'm going to let it go because you were probably overwrought rather than trying to provoke me.
Therefore I think it is best that we don't speak to each other any more.
