To think she should be getting more support

My close friend and colleague has been off with work related stress for nine weeks. All our colleagues have done recently is talked about when her job is likely to become available. I've previously been off with work related stress for a shorter period of time so fully understand how she feels.

Ideally yes, they would be supported. I suppose it depends on the kind of person they are.

I had a colleague who was off with stress for nearly six months last year and it felt like we were the munchkins finally free from the wicked witch of the west when she wasn't in the office because she's such a vile person. Her saying she had stress didn't make her a better person to be around so no one was willing to provide any support.

sorry to hear about how your colleague behaved towards you and your team. My friend is lovely though and would do anything for anyone which makes the way they are treating her hard to understand.
