I am in Oz, which is why my day is over and yours is just starting.

Had an interview today. Went well. They asked me would I be able to start next week and I said I would....it was a hypothetical question. They then said at the end "Thank you very much. Annie will call you before the end of the day"

Well it's 6.00pm now and NOTHING.

Wtf?

Why? Why say that and then not do it? If I didn't get the job a quick call or email would be mannerful no?

Oh and it was a large company....I was at the HQ. The role was quite specialised and I am more than suited to the position.

Maybe they are offering it to someone else and are waiting to hear back from them first?

Is agree, it's rude but if it's a large company then maybe they'd have to contact a lot of applicants???

You are probably their second choice, and they couldn't get through to their first choice candidate in time.

Maybe Annie has to rush off at the end of the day and thought she would call you first thing in the morning...but yes, frustrating and rude
