To leave the Christmas tree up as I've got a cold.

The title says it all.

Got a cold, feel shit, DH has it too, kids have abandoned us for friends house with parents 'who don't cough nonstop'. Confused

The tree looks shit. Wilting and the baubles are dropping off one by one. I can hear them bouncing over the floor at night. I'm too knackered to care.

I'm tempted just to leave if there in the corner until next year.

Leave it until it falls over or until you feel better.

CharlotteCollinsneeLucas · 03/01/2019 21:13

Put a book between your eyes and the tree. Problem solved.

How old are the kids? If they're old enough to move out for a week or so, they're old enough to take the tree down I should think.

FangTasticBeast · 03/01/2019 21:16

I’m the same and my tree is the same. Although ex has said he will take it down tomorrow as I’m sick of the sight of it now

Putitdownnow · 03/01/2019 21:17

I'm currently watching Luther. Don't know which is more gruesome, the programme or the tree.

It’s not twelfth night until Sunday- so perfectly fine to leave it up. But I agree with PPs that if your DCs are old enough to decamp they are old enough to take it down and put baubles away.

SushiMonster · 03/01/2019 21:19

12th night isn't until the weekend, decs stay up until then!

Putitdownnow · 03/01/2019 21:20

Kids have more or less fended for themselves for a week. Poor sods.

I see the tree as mirroring my health.

The bird decorations have wilted so much they look dead.

You've both been feeling like doing nothing for a week? That's a rotten cold.

Don't worry about the DCs. Fending for yourself is a novelty for them. Unless they're 7 or younger, they'll be fine.

Putitdownnow · 03/01/2019 21:31

They're 15 and 13 so fine.
