is this just the way life goes

Everything's fine for a couple of months. Busy with a relatively hectic /stressful job, hobbies, friends, exercise. All plodding along nicely. Happy, challenged in the right ways, feel like I'm making a difference.

Then bam an evening (or an entire day) of crying in bed and feelings of worthlessness/selfloathing/hopelessness.

Then back to normal service

Is this just the way life goes. Semi-regular pits of despair?

If so who do I write to to lodge a complaint Hmm

Is it linked to your periods ie hormonal??

SirMopeALot · 03/01/2019 19:57

This particular episode is just after a period . Thought it was only before periods the hormones affected you? I do get a bit existential before a period but nothing I can't work through.

Postmenstrual syndrome and depression is talked about and seems to be something with which a number of women identify. Have you spoken to a GP or HCP about it in case it is hormonal or a form of depression?

My PMT has suddenly changed to during and after my period. Keep a note of the dates.

I also get insomnia for 2 nights mid cycle Hmm

I really don't appreciate the idea of sneak-attack PMT changes at my age Shock

I will start tracking it, I have a period app which I can track it on.

Never would have thought of post menstrual issues. Thank you for the advice!
