Is this limerence?

DP and I had a break up for a year in the middle of our relationship. In this time, I slept with a friend of mine. He hasn't been a 'friend' since out of respect for DP. It was 8 months ago this happened. Recently, I've found myself thinking about him a lot. I even went out of my way to text him over Christmas and have been subconsciously wondering ways to casually bump into him.
Is this just limerence/infatuation? Or a sign of an unhappy relationship? Or am I just a generally bad person?

Limerance it goes hand in hand with unhappy relationships in my experience although it can come out of nowhere chances are your fixating on him becsuse your unhappy where you are

Yes it's limerance. It may be a symptom of an unhappy relationship. Maybe it's hard work for you, working things through with DP, and maybe you're longing for that lovely butterfly fluttering intense feeling you had with the other person. Doesn't mean it's real. DON'T text or bump into him - that way lies disaster.
If you are truly unhappy, finish things with your partner first.

I'm so unsure if I'm really unhappy in my relationship or if this is a phase, but the feeling just won't pass.

It's worse because it'd never work relationship-wise with the other guy and I'm fully aware, so it's not to do with having feelings and leaving for him. I had the chance and I turned it down because I knew it wouldn't work. So maybe it is completely just grass is greener syndrome or missing my freedom or something?
