Going for a job interview 1 week postpartum

Would I be allowed to do this?
It's largely theoretical at this point, but if I was offered an interview for a job I really wanted which took place in the 2 weeks after I gave birth, would I be allowed to attend? I know I'm not legally allowed to "return to work" within 2 weeks, but what about an internal interview at my workplace?

Is it your first baby? How old are you? Interventions could be more likely based on the previous. Interventions could mean you might find sitting/walking very uncomfortable.

I would think it was allowed even internal but I would question a work place that didn't at least leave it open and flexible for you to some extent or at least postpone for a few days to give you more leeway

It also depends on how much time it would take - so 5 mins down the road and a one hour job fine but commute into London plus travel and 3 to 4 hrs not sure you could do it if the birth was at all traumatic and lets face it there is usually something or other

Ask them. They might be able to interview you last, so that your interview is in the third week. Or they might be able to be more flexible if you need more time to recover and they really want you for the job.

It'll be my second, I'm in my early 30s, have worked here for years and it's very local (5mins in the car) and I could get a taxi if I'm unable to drive and could have someone watch the kids. It's public sector so they can be quite "follow the rules" and when I've been sick before and asked for a different interview date I've been told "it's that day or nothing" - I know they wouldn't discriminate against me, but might not want to postpone hiring to wait for me to attend an interview.

I have heard a team I'm interested in (and qualified to) move to might be looking to hire around my due date, so just wanted to check the legality if it does happen as I wouldn't want to miss out if I can help it.

I interviewed 13 days PP. I didn't get the job (thankfully, actually), but nothing was said about the situation.
