Is anyone looking forward to it? Did anyone who vote leave happy they voted it? Or regretful?

OP posts:

Mumminmum
And don't get me talking about EU Financial Officers.

Well, Madame Le Pen has found out that EU money is not to be spent illegally. Who'd have thought?

JustABetterPlayer · 03/01/2019 12:22

Jackshouse what the hell are you on about? Do you actually understand how the economy works? Hmm

Jackshouse · 03/01/2019 12:24

Yes I do thanks. Which bit of my post did YOU not understand?

Itinerary · 03/01/2019 12:25

If you don't want to eat chlorinated chicken, don't buy it. If there's no demand it won't be on sale. There is little or no demand for, say, horse meat, or guinea pig meat, in the U.K. and funnily enough you don't see them in the supermarket.

LoadOfUtterBoswellocks · 03/01/2019 12:29

Ooh I'm looking forward to the end of the obesity crisis. We can enjoy a nice rickets crisis instead.

SusanWalker · 03/01/2019 12:29

I bet UKIP wish the EU never audits it's money thing were true. Garage is still paying money back isn't he?

I'm looking forward to my shit life being even shitter and even harder. That will distract me and the rest of the population from wondering just how much corruption has gone on amongst our leaders over this whole brexit shitstorm. I still would love to know how much investment banker May knows about what his wife has planned when he goes off to work in the morning.

JustABetterPlayer · 03/01/2019 12:31

“My DD was a newborn at the time of the referendum. Even the more positive forecasts suggest it would be until her grandchildren’s generation that things will get start to be in the same situation as we were before the the referendum.“

What utter drivel, care to elaborate?

Our economy? Confused
The pound? Confused
Stocks? Confused

Our economy as a whole is better today than it was before the referendum with the exception of the value of the pound. So please, do explain your economical wisdom Hmm You could argue there was an opportunity cost and lower predicted growth but certainly not ‘worse’.

SusanWalker · 03/01/2019 12:33

If there's nothing else but chlorinated chicken in the shops and it's feed your kids that or go without its not much of a choice is it. Although it's more the hormone ridden beef i have an issue with. Apparently the US want country of origin to be taken off labels as part of a trade deal.

BIWI · 03/01/2019 12:33

@WhoNose88

The only thing that's a silver lining is that pensions will undoubtedly go down as well (and should) since the Europeans who are leaving are all working age and tax paying. So the older generation get to share in the mess they helped create (sorry to the ones who, like my parents, voted Remain and can't understand what happened).

That's an unbelievably crass, cruel and nasty thing to say. As a remainer, heading towards retirement age, thanks very much for the suggestion that my income is reduced for something that other people voted for.

Kpo58 · 03/01/2019 12:34

If you don't want to eat chlorinated chicken, don't buy it. If there's no demand it won't be on sale

But if they make it the only option apart from a £12 free range chicken then those who want to eat chicken have little choice.
Most people want unscented sanitary ware, but the companies are taking that choice away from use and replacing with scented because they can and people still need a sanitary ware product, what makes you think that they won't do the same with the food that we eat or other essential products?

drspouse · 03/01/2019 12:35

I remember getting the heebeejeebees on a visit back home to Sainsburys.
I went in and walked round the cereal aisle and came out having bought nothing due to being so overwhelmed.
We didn't have ration books though - just famine and cholera. 1990s.

glueandstick · 03/01/2019 12:38

I’ve just booked a holiday flying on the 29th. Didn’t think that through did I?

Shame it wasn’t any cheaper 🙄

Theworldisfullofgs · 03/01/2019 12:40

@satsumaeater the EU is better at it than the UK govt is. The leave campaigner in.my village said that to me after The referendum. After a quick conversation, he said - shall I stop digging my hole...

UserMe18 · 03/01/2019 12:42

@JustABetterPlayer "with the exception of the value of the pound" that's quite a big exception you realise?

JustABetterPlayer · 03/01/2019 12:46

Indeed it is, though the effects are not all negative. The point still remains though that the comment made is pure rubbish, and they will be unable to substantiate the claim.

Like chlorine chicken, I drink tap water... It contains chlorine (an uncomfortable truth for some).

RelativePitch · 03/01/2019 12:49

Can't wait for my French DM to be deported and get my hands on her massive house. Mwah ha ha ha. I discovered way too many Polish treats and charcuterie through my Polish friend. My waistline will be much improved with those things gone.
To be honest without trying to sound overly dramatic, I don't think I've been entirely happy since June 2016. It's all very sad and worrying.

StoorieHoose · 03/01/2019 12:51

I know water has chlorine in it. I just done want my only choice of chicken to have been washed in chlorine just because the only trade deal we can get is with the US with them dictating to the UK. I thought that was the whole point of leaving the EU - to have greater control. I can’t afford free range chicken

IknowTheBoswellJoke · 03/01/2019 12:51

I'm looking forward to a government who will actually have to listen to, and act upon what the British people want. No more scapegoat.

IknowTheBoswellJoke · 03/01/2019 12:53

And maybe some opportunities in chicken farming to open up, for all the MNers who are scared of chlorine.

SusanWalker · 03/01/2019 12:55

To be fair it's not the actual chlorine, but the reasons why they use the chlorine in the first place.

JustABetterPlayer · 03/01/2019 12:55

IknowTheBoswellJoke

I predict little change, Labour will blame the Tories - Tories will blame labour and the Lib Dims will sit in the corner trying to shout loudly

IknowTheBoswellJoke · 03/01/2019 12:56

And in my humble opinion, if you can't afford free range chicken, then don't eat chicken. Eating caged hens is never acceptable.

BarbarianMum · 03/01/2019 12:57

Well personally Im thrilled by the idea of meat that has to be bleached to make it safe to eat. What's not to like?

IknowTheBoswellJoke · 03/01/2019 12:58

I assume you all have been vaccinated? Why are you being so utterly silly over chicken, when you are willingly injected with the crazy cocktails that vaccines contain! Grin

BrexitDestruction · 03/01/2019 13:01

We can all look forward to increased rates of salmonella poisoning, like in the US and then also, paying all our health insurance premiums to cure us once they sell off the NHS. Yay!
