Breastfeeding and one boob bigger than other.

I've been breastfeeding for two months now. Still feels a bit odd and whilst it took me a while to get used to it, I'm settling in to the swing of things now...

One problem. My left boob is significantly bigger than my right. To the point that it looks a bit stupid even in a tshirt.

Can I change this? I have an electric pump if that's any help? What can I do to even myself out? It's really getting me down..

Are you switching regularly. Does baby have a preferred side. ??

Bigonesmallone3 · 03/01/2019 06:46

Is baby feeding more of the larger one?

Surfskatefamily · 03/01/2019 06:50

I had this, my baby hated right boob for a bit so my left boob must have got more milk produced in it. Im 9months in and theyve evened out. Just try to keep feeding as evenly as you can and dont fret. It will just take a little time
Have you got a bra with them little padded chicken fillet things? You could borrow one for your nursing bra n pad the small boob out to look more even

I feel your pain! My left has never regulated itself even though the right did. Baby has also preferred the left recently as well! I pump at work and yesterday got 6oz from left and 2oz from the right! It's more obvious for me when engorged than when baby has fed from both sides. If it helps, I don't think other people notice.

Try rugby tackle hold your baby on the smaller . Tricks them into thinking it's preferred side. Keep going mummy

I’m 16 months in and my right breast is still bigger than my left and it looks ridiculous when I wear certain clothes.

I’m praying that once I’ve stopped breastcfeedinh things will even out again.

Booboostwo · 03/01/2019 07:47

I had this as well and it stayed like that for 6 years while I bfed two DCs. It took a while to settle after I stopped but it’s back to normal now.

HavelockVetinari · 03/01/2019 07:52

I had this, my right boob has a slower flow so even though I fed DS for an equal time on each side my right boob made less milk. I'm still bf now he's 17 months, and DS expresses a marked preference for the left side - I have to be strict to keep more or less even!

HoneyBee03 · 03/01/2019 08:13

Yep I have this problem and it looks hilarious. Me and DP find it highly amusing and we do have a good giggle at my boobs when I'm topless sometimes. I call the right one Frankenboob.

6 months in and I'm getting ready to start moving onto formula, so fingers crossed they even out! It won't be so funny if it's permanant...

Mine evened out fairly quickly, but I went against advice and just fed from whichever felt the most full at the time. Still do tbh.
