To complain to my next door neighbour about the noise?

It’s nearly 1am, next doors kids are still awake (baby, 2-3 year old and an 11year old). I can hear them talking, laughing, crying, banging around the bedroom.
I’m not happy and I did bang on the wall about an hour ago. It went quieter for about 10mins.

Whilst I appreciate you can’t keep a baby quiet I’m amazed that the older kids just don’t seem to have a bedtime! Mum is from Eastern Europe so I dont know if the culture is different?

Anyhow AIBU to pop a note through asking if she could keep the volume down after 11pm?

I'd knock and speak to her about it as opposed to posting a note.

Is it unusual for them? If so it may calm down soon.

My children are usually in their bed for 7.30pm and sleeping for 8. But it's all went to pot since Christmas. Socialising and lie ins meaning going to bed later.

I agree, I think a face to face conversation would work best. The note may be taken the wrong way and it could get worse, at least if you speak to her in person you’ll be able to see her body language/attitude and go from there. Hopefully she’ll be reasonable!
