What's your idea of a perfect day without responsibilities/obligations?

Forgive me, I know this isn't an AIBU, but I didn't know where else to put it! Grin
My DH and I have company this weekend twice, and we're both Aspies so although enjoyable, it's going to be very exhausting for us. Today, however, we have off, so we're kicking back playing video games until we pass out. That's our idea of a perfect day without responsibilities. What's yours? Smile

Tomorrow. I'll get up at 7, go to the Sainsbury's café for breakfast, MN for a couple of hours, come home, more MNing bed at around midnight.

PhilomenaButterfly · 02/01/2019 23:00

Damn. I'm prebooked to go out to dinner. Well, nearly.

LittleBearPad · 02/01/2019 23:03

Lie in and faff on the internet mainly MN, wander into town and yummy lunch, mosey round the shops, head home, bath, tv, bed.

SynchroSwimmer · 02/01/2019 23:06

Oooh, a morning yoga class followed by a nice hot sauna down at the gym, some interesting chatter with whichever random chaps just happen to be in there, then a nice long swim in lane number 2 (hoping no one gets in to share the space with me) with some underwater music on MP3, then home, feet up with 2 pints of iced coffee cappucino and catch up on MN watching the sun go down...

AbitOfaCrummyMummy · 02/01/2019 23:10

Lay in.m, Watch morning tv whilst MN'ing. Coffee, Lunch, Coffee, Museum/gallery, Music (loud with headphones because I dont need to hear for a monitor) dinner, bath, tv, bed.

We are so bloody glamorous in our choices huh?

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 02/01/2019 23:11

@PhilomenaButterfly, that sucks! SO CLOSE!!! Btw, Where is Sainsbury cafe? What do you usually get for breakfast there? I live in the U.S.

@LittleBearPad that sounds lovely! [smiles]

@SynchroSwimmer, that sounds so nice! Especially the swimming and watching the sun go down. What is underwater music? That sounds magical! Smile

@ABitofaCrummyMummy, I know right! It's always been the simplest things that make me happy. I think that's a good trait to have though! Einstein thought so! Grin

A child free day where I can sleep
Eat watch what I want...currently a stay st home mum / full time carer for my son,

NorthEndGal · 02/01/2019 23:20

Head to the beach for sunrise, pick glass for a few hours, home for breakfast and then into the studio for a few hours, lunch then nap, read, and then cook supper with dh and the kids.
Movie after, or maybe a game of cards

jjemimapuddleduck · 02/01/2019 23:22

No-one to make meals for, wash dishes or clothes for or clean up after as well as not having to listen to anyone else's opinions sounds amazing!

My day would be spent completely alone, no annoying DH either. I'd go to the supermarket the night before for supplies, sleep in (put a sign on the door for the postie and unplug the phone) as late as possible, take myself out for breakfast or lunch, a wee wander round some charity shops or a garden centre or a wee town with gift shops then home to have a bath (in my magically clean and sumptuous bathroom - not my crappy current loo) with lots of hot water, candles and bubbles, then settle down to watch a really good box set or films for hours and hours and hours. Only stopping to make myself the odd cup of tea or some food. I'd ideally not have to get up the next day either and wouldn't have to sort clothes/lunches/be organised before bed. I'd be able to use my phone for mumsnet/online shopping but no-one could text/ring/email/bother me.

Or I might have a massage or facial. I love these but hate the fact that the relaxing element is totally negated by coming home to a busy house with all the usual drudgy chores to do!

kicking back playing video games until we pass out

This, exactly.

MysweetAudrina · 02/01/2019 23:23

Early morning yoga class, Greek yoghurt, granola and berries for breakfast. A good walk with dh by the beach and some lunch in a nice pub. A stroll around the shops to pick up a nice candle and a skin care treat. Sushi for dinner and then a trip to the theatre. Home for a cuddle and if not too tired a ride.

SynchroSwimmer · 03/01/2019 00:04

Miss Lanes - underwater music = a cheap £14 Amazon MP3 music player with waterproof headphones, clip it to your swimsuit and end up swimming three times the distance/time you intended...because the beat of the music is so good....maybe a few lengths of cartwheels thrown in too - to a particularly good track. 😎

Purpleartichoke · 03/01/2019 00:07

Reading a book or binge watching a show. Ordering takeaway

Kintan · 03/01/2019 00:11

I think I’d stay in bed most of the day reading, just getting up to answer the door for a food delivery, and to have a long bath :)

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 03/01/2019 00:16

@SynchroSwimmer, that sounds so neat!!!! However, I thought it was like whale song or music that sounds like underwater, if you know what I mean! Grin I will look into for sure for the summer though, when DH and I go swimming in our pool! Thanks! Smile

Would people judge me for saying that I would be super tempted to tackle some decluttering I've been wanting to do?

(I'm a real slob, not at all tidy, but I started decluttering and it made me feel so much better I'm actually really excited to do some more.)

embarrassed

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 03/01/2019 00:19

For me it would have to be;

A nice lie in, not having to get out of bed at a sparrows fart.
A long, hot (I mean hot) bath with candles, bubbles and a face mask.
Then into clean loungewear, back to bed with films and box sets.
My phone would only be for MN (no texts, calls, emails, SM) and ordering a Chinese feast for dinner - said Chinese feast will be eaten out of the containers so no washing up!

Lots of water, green tea and hot water with lemon too.
Maybe in 15 years time Grin

EwItsAHooman · 03/01/2019 00:31

kicking back playing video games until we pass out

Same.

And I'd drink gin while playing. Fuck, I'd even buy some cigarettes for the first time in ten years and smoke a few if there were no DC to lecture me about how it's bad for you.

cheesenpickles · 03/01/2019 00:40

A lay-in, right up until it gets dangerously close to lunchtime. Head to the shops for a long mooch, try things on with infinite coffee stops and cake that doesn't need to be shared/cause fights. Head home and have a long bath and spend hours getting ready to go for a nice dinner with dh. Drink way too much. End up in some dive bar singing shit karaoke and having a giggle. Go hone with some fried chicken and chips, listen to 80s music and sleep until the hangover wears off. Bliss.

cheesenpickles · 03/01/2019 00:41

Actually, switch dh for my bestie and they'll be better (sorry dh but you don't like my embarrassing Cher impression!)

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 03/01/2019 00:44

These all sound SO lovely!!!!!!!! Some of you are giving me some really good ideas too, for the next day off! Grin
