Who is right?

We are having our house painted, our carpets professionally cleaned and new lino in kitchen and upstairs bathroom.

I think the carpets should be cleaned and lino put down before painting. Our decorator is really tidy and makes no mess.

DP thinks that the painting should be done first.

I worry the walls will get marked from the cleaning - incase it splashes up the walls, and just general marks from work being done.

So, who is right?

Painting first.

Your dp is right.

MrsExpo · 02/01/2019 20:46

Do the (potentially) messy jobs ... painting .... first, then clean up. Obvious surely .....

Crudd · 02/01/2019 20:48

100% painting first.

couchparsnip · 02/01/2019 20:49

Gravity isnt on your side. Dust and dirt etc from sanding, cleaning and then painting will fall downwards. Painting first

BeanTownNancy · 02/01/2019 20:49

Painting first.

potatoscone · 02/01/2019 20:49

Always paint first.

WhatsUpHun · 02/01/2019 20:50

Of course it's cleaning last....!!!

ChristmasFluff · 02/01/2019 21:01

Another vote for painting first.

Laying lino and cleaning your carpets won't mess up your walls, so try not to worry

Lazypuppy · 02/01/2019 21:05

Paint first and clean last

Merryoldgoat · 02/01/2019 21:06
