I can justify taking the best piece, can't I?

Also, what other cook privileges are there?

Moussemoose · 02/01/2019 16:21

Totally. Cooks perks. You want it you cook it.

GreenThing · 02/01/2019 16:21

yes...

SalmonLeBon · 02/01/2019 16:22

Absolutely. No debate. Cook takes first dibs on crackling. And on bacon used in roasting chicken/turkey. Anything else would be against all natural laws.

RosemarysBush · 02/01/2019 16:23

Of course you can.

SocksRock · 02/01/2019 16:23

Chicken skin. End of the wine bottle. The extra misshapen Yorkie that didn't quite come cleanly out of the pan. The soggy middle bit of the lemon drizzle cake.

So many perks.

Why yes, I could do with losing a few pounds, can't think why...

GreenThing · 02/01/2019 16:23

Skin off the turkey/chicken

Burnt roatst potatoes

Crispy stuffing

Edges of the sticky toffee pudding/jam roly poly

TheQueef · 02/01/2019 16:23

Chefs oysters on chicken.

3out · 02/01/2019 16:23

I would eat the best crackling in the kitchen by myself before the meal is served 😂

Hidillyho · 02/01/2019 16:24

I didn’t know this was a thing.. I usually just get a joint that feeds 10 so we can all have a decent bit. Maybe I’ll do your way next time

fruityb · 02/01/2019 16:24

The chicken wings...

GreenLowe · 02/01/2019 16:25

They'll all get some crackling, except the one person who hates it, but there's a perfect piece on one side and I want it.

OP posts:
AviatorShades · 02/01/2019 16:25

Absolutely!

And the glass of wine I'm swigging sipping is also called Chef's Perks in my home.

Love cooking, meGrin

brokenhead · 02/01/2019 16:26

Turning the chicken up side down and taking both oysters

Eating any odd number item

cricketmum84 · 02/01/2019 16:26

Oysters off the chicken, one of the wings just after it's come out of the oven, you have to do the hot chicken dance while you eat it before anyone comes in but it's soo worth it.

And always first dibs on the crackling :)

BrightYellowDaffodil · 02/01/2019 16:26

@TheQueef Ooh, chicken oysters. The best bits, along with freshly cooked skin (sprinkled with salt). And the crispy bits from the roasting tin.

TheGirlWhoLived · 02/01/2019 16:27

The toastie maker gets the grilled cheese that’s popped out of the side. Thems the rules kid

GreenLowe · 02/01/2019 16:27

What are the oysters on a chicken? What have I been missing out on all these years?p

OP posts:
Catsandbootsandbootsandcats · 02/01/2019 16:27

Yes, definitely. I always do, and chicken skin.

But what are chicken oysters? What have I been missing out on? Or maybe calling by a different name?

brokenhead · 02/01/2019 16:28

Turn him upside down

The little bits if you pull back the skin

I'll send you a pic on here

Longdistance · 02/01/2019 16:29

Yes to getting the cracking first.

If I’m doing gravy and have the roast veg underneath, I get that too. I love crispy onion 😋

brokenhead · 02/01/2019 16:30

Not an appetising pic but informative

PabloTescobar · 02/01/2019 16:30

Sometimes I put a whole carrot in a casserole if I just want the flavour but not the actual carrot. Might sound weird but when I fish it out that's definitely cooks perks to me!

PabloTescobar · 02/01/2019 16:32

Also, scraping off the burnt on, crispy bits round the edge of the dish from any kind of cottage pie, pasta bake etc, which is the best bit if you ask me.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 02/01/2019 16:35

Absolutely it is yours. Like the first pancake.
