Vodafone broadband are useless

After trying to save some money I’ve been reviewing all my services and In November I left Sky TV and Internet and opted for Vodafone Broadband. I needed to be connected by 14th December but the earliest they said they could connect us was Christmas Day.. I rung and queried this as 1- Was any one working that day to activate services? and 2- if it didn’t work I didn’t want to be left without having any one to sort it. I rung them and they confirmed there were engineers working and it would be on by 2pm Christmas Day...
Of course it hppe. and we had no internet. I rung up and spoke to somebody on the 27th to be told I shouldn’t have been given the 25th as activation date as no one was working.. and couldn’t believe I’d been told the 25th.. I offered to scan my letter in and send it to them as yes it definitely said the 25th... they were unable to connect us that day and rung me back on the 28th to say it would be connected by midnight on 31st December... Of course midnight came and went and still no internet.. I spoke to them via Twitter for them to say the activation date had not been set and still waiting for engineers.. I’ve just rung Vodafone to be told they still can’t give me an activation date but will raise the issue again.. I should hear back in 48 hours with a possible activation date again.

Admittedly they have given me an extra 50GB of data on my phone to use as a hotspot to watch tv and be online but with teenagers it’s not lasting long! And when I’m out with my phone they can’t use it as a hotspot.
Has anyone else had such issues and bad service from Vodafone? I’ve had a phone contract with them for many years but am now thinking I just won’t renew again as it’s terrible!! Can I leave their internet too seeing’s as I’m still yet to receive any service from them??!!

Vodaphone are truly dreadful.
Be very careful when you try to leave/ end your contract. They make it very difficult. And use debt collectors to harrass people, even when they have been told in writing that you do not wish to renew.

Yepp we have, we have been a customer for a few years and decided to upgrade to fibre last year. It took 3 months to get it installed after problem after problem - all theirs. One person we'd spoken to said they had an engineer out then called later and said that no, he was due the week after. This happened over and over.

We won't be renewing our contract and definitely looking elsewhere.

Yes.. they told me the engineer was at the box on NYE and all would be sorted. Can I leave before I’ve even started receiving their service? Im wishing I’d never left sky now even though I’ve saved money!!

Not from Vodaphone but we are having a similar nightmare after deciding to switchfrom BT to Talk Talk. We’re due to switch on 6th December , nothing happened. By 8th Dec gave up and decided to go back to BT and still trying to make this happen. Both Talk Talk and BT been utterly and completely beyond utterly shit.

We were given a new number at one point. I’ve spent about 2 hours 20 on to BT today and DH tried Talk Talk. Finally this afternoon I’ve go5 through to someone who appears fairly competent and said no actually you don’t have your phone line with us and there is no fault on your landline (2 engineer’s allegedly been put so far and a third was booked for tomorrow).

Currently no new connection date but hopefully will know more Friday. Maybe. Possibly... My sympathies

I think you can, have a look at the contract. You don't have the service that they're meant to provide.

We had this over and over again over months and the only reason I didn't cancel it was because I had multiple family bereavements to deal with and left it with my DP who is useless with these types of things.

Honestly, they're a nightmare.

After months and months of phone calls, webchats, e-mails, false promises etc. I eventually e-mailed the CEO [email protected] - sorted out within 48 hours and full refund for charges which had been taken out of my account. Try it.

I was with them, never had a problem! Connection started fine, everything arrived as it should and the switch from them to another company was also fine. The only reason I switched was that I was paying he same for regular internet that I could get fibre for with other companies, and I’m not in a fibre area so it made sense to switch. They were fine to leave too.

Have you looked at plusnet?
£30 per month for broadband, landline and free calls at weekends and after 7pm.
I bought my mobile phone for cash and pay £8 pm for a very reasonable amount of data, calls and texts. Sorry can't remember exactly how much but it is perfectly adequate.(EE)

Poppiesway1 · 02/01/2019 15:41

I got the £26 a month fibre broadband deal.. i don’t use a landland as with the free calls and texts on my mobile I only needed internet.
And with the dc not watching tv as much now (You Tube has taken over!) I didn’t need the channels.. so figured I’d save on that too!

I’ll try emailing the CEO and see
If that gets anywhere by the end of the week.. if not I’ll tell them I’m leaving as still not had any service from them!
