I have NC'd for this, as I'm worried it could be outing.
To the end of last year, I was offered a new job in my field, and was obviously over the moon. I got started and was really enjoying the work, got on well with my colleagues in my department, and felt I had settled in well. I had one occasion in my first week when I had car trouble so was a few minutes late, and had to take a day off as I came down with horrible flu and couldn't get out of bed, let alone drive the 70 minute commute to work. On both occasions I worked the time back as required by company policy. I had meetings with my line manager who said my work was excellent and everything was going great.
I have just come out of a meeting with another manager, who told me they are letting me go. Her attitude was horrible - I asked why this decision had been made, and simply got told "we don't have to tell you." When I asked again she said I wasn't fitting in with the company or the team, I had a terrible attitude, and I hadn't said Good Morning to her on one occasion.
I am beyond shocked and have no idea what to do. I was just wondering whether anyone else had been in this situation? How can people be such snakes - saying everything is great one minute and deciding to fire you the next? I suppose I'm asking AIBU to be upset by the reasons given?
Thanks for reading the essay anyone who made it this far.
