His breathing AHHHH

For the past six months or so, I can not stand having my partner sleep in the same room as me. He has started to breathe SO loudly, which keeps me up and irriates me beyond anything.

He has been sleeping in the other room on a blow up mattress, but last night slept in the same bed as me. It kept me up most of the night, waking me up very frequently. I wanted to strangle him!

I'm not sure what the answer is, he didn't used to breathe quite like this. I feel maybe we will need to get a place with separate bedrooms! Has anyone else had to deal with this, and is it so abnormal to sleep in separate rooms to your partner?

Has he put weight on?

TulipsInbloom1 · 01/01/2019 12:43

Has he got a cold?

Do you dislike him for other reasons? I’ve found that when you dislike someone everything they do is annoying. Including breathing Grin

Why don’t you just wear ear plugs.

SixButterflies · 01/01/2019 12:49

Do you have misophonia?

Mishappening · 01/01/2019 12:52

Just tell him to stop breathing - how dare he! Grin

Blush My breathing has got heavier lately (pregnant) and my DP is a light sleeper. He wears ear plugs every night. Works fine for us. He'd rather do that than us sleep apart.

Ear plugs

I also wondered about misophonia, if that's the case once you've picked up on the noise it will be impossible to ignore. Maybe snughle together until he falls asleep then decamp to the spare room?
