Has anyone tries Jacqueline's 7 day detox?

Got the book from a friend of mine and have just ordered the shopping list on line for Wednesday. Recipes look pretty good. I have eaten too much chocolate and crap over xmas.

Any success stories out there? Or tips?

You possess a liver and kidneys. They do the detoxing for you.

You do not need to detox.

artisanscotcheggs · 31/12/2018 23:58

Detoxes are a load of bollocks. Unless your liver and kidneys aren't working properly, you have absolutely no need to detox, and even if you did, all a 'detox' does it make you shit yourself into dehydration which is actually pretty bloody dangerous.

Avoid.

Ok, I really don't know what you are talking about. It is a 7 day healthy eating plan with soups, salads, lots of water. There is chicken, salmon, fruit. It isn't some liquid detox.

Then I'm supposing that is a kick start to your healthy eating plan and not a detox 😀

cantbeb0thered · 01/01/2019 00:17

madein yes sort of I guess. I always do better on diets when there is a goal or a focus. You can supposedly lose 6/7 pounds over the course of the week. Will see how it goes!

Unless you plan to carry on eating healthily well beyond 7 days, there really is not point. The stated goal of this diet - the "detox" - is made up.

artisanscotcheggs · 01/01/2019 01:24

You need to eat well for more than seven days for it to be helpful.

JenMumma · 01/01/2019 02:18

Sounds fab and like a great boost/kickstart !!! 👍 ... if it makes you feel good, you go for it 🙂🙂. I plan on consuming a lot more water daily this year as it's helped with concentration, skin, energy, UTI's and what not in the past. Enjoy your salmon and soups, guzzle guzzle guzzle that H2O and good luck girl 🙂🙂⭐️⭐️

No such thing as a detox, as pp have said.
Be careful about drinking too much water. Just eat a more healthy post Christmas diet, that's sound advice.

Ragaroo · 01/01/2019 06:38

If you lose 6 or 7 pounds it will mostly be water weight. A pound of fat is equivalent to a deficit of 3500 cals. The weight loss will then stall pretty rapidly and you'll end up having to find something you can do long term, so you may as well start as you mean to go on.

cantbeb0thered · 01/01/2019 07:52

I do plan to keep going with the healthy eating. I have just had a bad month that's all. I am only a size 12 with about 8 pounds I need to lose to be back at the right weight for my height.

I hate memes other than this one....

7 day detox

GoatYoga that's a great one!
Rudimentary knowledge of the human body is very useful!

What a grumpy lot you are. OP has already said it’s not a faddy supplement diet. It’s a 7 day healthy eating plan to kick start her longer term goals. Good luck op - let us know how you go on.

Clionba · 01/01/2019 11:02

No one's grumpy! She didn't say "healthy eating". She said "detox". That's what some of us are challenging, not a decision to be more healthy!!

cantbeb0thered · 01/01/2019 14:30

It is called a detox. You are supposed to cut out caffeine and alcohol. I rarely drink and only have one cup of tea a day in the evening so it isn't about those things for me. There are some simple tasty recipes for soups and healthy dinners. If you were a heavy caffeine drinker then maybe it would be a detox. Anyway, I am picking up all the ingredients from Tesco tomorrow so we shall see how it goes!

PoutySprout · 01/01/2019 14:32

As per the first reply there is no such thing as a detox no matter how much caffeine or alcohol you drink! It’s a made up word. You might as well replace it with unicorn.

Clionba · 01/01/2019 14:52

PoutySprout exactly that.
It is a healthy diet - good luck with it OP - but don't call it a detox!
