Four year olds to an adult party?

I'm 24 and I have twin sons age 4 - my parents were supposed to be taking them to family new years eve this evening and having them for a sleepover. This party is all 35+ and kids.

My parents are now both ill and have said they can watch them if we'd still like, but I don't want the boys to get sick and I think it would be to much for them.

Me and DH were supposed to be going to a house party tonight with our friends, who all bar one don't have kids and are aged 22-28(ish). The host has said we can bring them, and put them in the front room to play/watch Tv and they can sleep in the spare room if they want to.

I know they'd be well behaved but can't decide if it might be a bit to 'wild' of a party to take them to? DH has said he think it would be fine as we'd only be there for around 4/5 hours.

Alternatively we could drop and pick them up from the family party, or go to the family party?

What would you all do?

As long as you are happy to leave early if the children are disruptive, then go to the party. With any luck they will be seen and not heard, and not cause any trouble at all. Have a good night.

Family party, you can't take them to an adult party as it will change the dynamic.

I'd go to the family party tbh. It's the best solution for you, your children and the other guests.

Your adult party hosts might be OK with you taking two four year olds, but the other guests might not be so forgiving. If there's a lot of noise and the twins are wanting to go to sleep you'd have to leave.

Go to the family party and have a good night.
