To think they are all going to be wearing ball gowns and tiaras?

DH and I are on holiday in Tenerife. I had. Stirred before we came to try and work out what clothes we might need. We decided that we would like a chilled NYE so I only brought one dress. A linen shift from Next.

When we arrived at the hotel we were told they were having a gala dinner and all hotel guests were invited free of charge. It has all been set up and it looks like a very glitzy affair.

All the Europeans we have seen in the resort have been very glammed up for an ordinary evening out. What will they be dressed like tonight?

Will they all have been caught on the hop like us or will it be the full sparkly gown job? I can't wait to find out! Grin

You could buy a sparkly scarf if you are wanting to fit it?

If not just be cool in your linen shift. I'm sure you will look sophisticated. Less is more.

I am more than happy to wear my linen shift. I'm not the sort that cares too much about what anyone else might think. I am a bit giddy with excitement at seeing some over the top frocks. I hope I am not disappointed!

I would always prefer to be under dressed rather than over at an event,it shows you are comfortable to wear whatever you want imo

I love dressing up! Simple and dress with lovely jewellery is my thing.

I would love an opportunity to dress up! But yes, it’ll be fun seeing what other people wear! Enjoy.

There were no ball gowns or tiaras just utterly lovely people. We had a ball. Happy new year to all. X
