I'm sitting reading a book in the front room watching the neighbour close just 1 of his double gates after driving off his drive. When he comes in layer he'll then have to stop the car, get out, open gate etc. He can be out anything from 5 minutes to all day but does this every time.

Other neighbour leaves his bins at the front of the house rather than putting them down the side of the house. Same neighbour has 4 people who drive living in the house, yet mum always comes and goes in taxis, sometimes with her grandkids, shopping etc. when they are home.

My mum drives her car right up to her back gate then has to walk around the car to go through gate. She then moans that she gets wet doing this when it's raining, but then won't leave a gap at the front of the car!

None of these things affect me so whyyyyyyyyy do they annoy me so much.

I should get a life

Virtue Seekers!!

On FB and there will be status: "I just saw a homeless guy, and he was begging and EVERYONE was judging him and just walking past. So I went to Greggs and bought him a coffee and a sausage roll, and sat and chatted for a bit and made him feel human again and he was SO thankful and he told me he wished the whole world was just like me. So humbling. #begrateful"

Followed by 20 responses of "Oh hun, you are so lovely" or "Babe, so kind" or "The world needs more people like you for sure"

Ugghhh! Fuck off you megatwat!

FlippingEggs · 31/12/2018 14:29

Thank you @cuppycake. It is irrational I know, and makes getting dressed really annoying, especially if only my blue jeans and black tops are clean!

MyNameIsNotSteven · 31/12/2018 14:29

Inability of Radio 1 DJs etc to pronounce the letter t (DD is a fab, o wouldn't be listening g otherwise).

GenerationSnowflake · 31/12/2018 14:29

People who wear black tops with blue jeans.
I don't think I own a top in any other colour than black to go with my blue jeans Grin Oh well!

MyNameIsNotSteven · 31/12/2018 14:30

Someone regularly asks for rent subs on Twitter? Shock

userschmoozer · 31/12/2018 14:33

Baby talk between adults.

buckingfrolicks · 31/12/2018 14:35

People who don't realise you can raise a car seat so that you can, you know, actually look out of the fucking windscreen, instead of driving along with your head at the same height as the steering wheel. For the love of all that is good, why the fuck do people do this???

Satsumaeater · 31/12/2018 14:38

People who wear black tops with blue jeans

Are blue tops with black jeans ok?

Agree with a lot of these but don't like people who say "excited for" when they mean "excited about" and "gift" as a verb when they mean "give".

Putting salt on food when you haven't even tasted it.

Moustaches.

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 31/12/2018 14:38

People who say borrow instead of lend. I see it all the time on MN.

My friend asked me to borrow £100
I borrowed my hoover to my friend.

toomanypillows · 31/12/2018 14:41

I'm getting wound up reading some of these 😂

People on Facebook who have an uncapitalised letter in their name where it should be a capital - like Libby-mae. CHANGE IT

My neighbours who have a double gate on their driveway. One side of the gate was recently replaced (I assume the original was broken) and now the new one is a slightly different height and a completely different colour to the other one. It drives me mad.

My other neighbours who have quite a long drive, that they can fit three cars on at a push, lengthways. The woman works nights but the man ALWAYS parks in front of her and has to move his car to let her out. Then he parks back in - and when she comes home in the morning he gets up, moves his car AGAIN so she can get it in the drive and then blocks her in again. 9 times out of 10 he doesn't use his car at all in the day, and so has to bloody move his again in the evening to let her out.
Either let her park at the front, or why doesn't she just drive the car at the front seeing as how he's in bed the whole time she's at work anyway? I actually want to go round and tell them this solution. Yet it has zero bearing on my life.

FlippingEggs · 31/12/2018 14:42

I know the whole black top and blue jeans thing is irrational, and I am sorry. I wish it didn't bug me. I don't know why it does. I am sorry. Blush

MayhapsIAm · 31/12/2018 14:45

Hiccups - my own and other people's. They make me want to break something

WeirdAl17 · 31/12/2018 14:45

Totally agree with virtue seeking flippingeggs

m0therofdragons · 31/12/2018 14:49

My neighbour up the road who stands on the corner smoking in her tatty pjs and dressing gown whatever time of day it is. She's late 20s and lives with her mum and dad. I presume she's not allowed to smoke inside or in the garden. It's weird and irritates me irrationally as we live the other end of the road but I see her as I drive in.

SilverySurfer · 31/12/2018 14:49

People who talk about 'making memories' it's cringemaking.

People who persist in using could/would/should OF instead of HAVE, despite constantly being corrected on here.

People who ask on here if they should go to A&E or not. The answer is YES if your eyeball is hanging out of its socket and NO if you have a painful hangnail.

People who walk down the street with eyes rooted to mobile phone and who, despite me shouting 'excuse me!' collide with my mobility scooter.

belinda789 · 31/12/2018 14:49

Being the time for New Year sales, an advertisement for sofas is currently appearing on TV and it begins with some oaf shouting "Ladies and Gentleman". I always shout back at the TV "Which gentleman did you have in mind?"
Daft I know but it really does annoy me...…..

GenerationSnowflake · 31/12/2018 14:52

FlippingEggs
I have heard that it used to be a rule, not to mix blue and black, but I quite like it. I do wear my uggs a lot too, you'll hate me, but they keep my feet so warm, I can't find a replacement Xmas Grin

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 31/12/2018 14:54

When Netflix asks me if I'm "Still there?" In the middle of a series.

I know it's just a press on the arrow, but sometimes the buttons have slipped down the sofa or my phone has run out of charge.

JUST KEEP PLAYING UNTIL I DECIDE I'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!

You're not the bloody boss of me Netflix, why the hell do you care if I'm there or not. Just bugger off.

(I usually shout this at the TV)

JorahsMistress · 31/12/2018 14:55

People who have the tags from their shirt/blouse sticking out of their neck, or their collar all twisted, i have to fight a strong urge to to reach out and tuck it in/straighten it, i know its not my business and don't affect me, but it really irritates me

Hashtagging - 1 hashtag fine, overuse of hashtags not so fine, i have someone on fb who LOVES hashtags so much she regularly uses multiple hashtags, most i counted at once was 10! Angry

The word famalam - makes my brain itch

People who post on fb a post about an illness and asking their friends to copy and paste to raise awareness, with a little note in the post that heavily implies that if you don't copy & paste or share the post then that means you don't care about that illness or people who suffer from it

Cauliflowersqueeze · 31/12/2018 14:56

People saying “arks” instead of “ask”

mrswhiplington · 31/12/2018 15:00

My neighbours put two towels and a blanket on their washing line about 3 months ago. They are still there. I can see them from our bedroom window. One towel has fallen off the line and is lying on the grass, the other towel and blanket are hanging by one peg and half on the grass as the weight of rainwater has dragged them down. I know they go out into their garden because they use their bins. One day they might take their washing in.Grin

Juells · 31/12/2018 15:02

Really over cheerful people on the phone from British Gas

Or people who phone up and address you cheerily by your first name. You don't know me, stop trying to pretend you're a friend.

People who snort their snot and swallow it instead of blowing their nose. They are usually sitting next to me on a plane and I have to listen to them the whole journey.

Gaaaaaaahhhhhh that made me gag.

User758172 · 31/12/2018 15:06

They’re

There

Used improperly!

KimchiLaLa · 31/12/2018 15:07

The phrases "my boys" and "my men". SIL uses them a lot when she's talking about her kids. I see it hashtagged endlessly. I just think it's annoying.

Maelstrop · 31/12/2018 15:08

People who wish their child a happy birthday on social media and ramble on about how an angel fell from heaven on the day they were born, ending with 'Love you, made up misspelt name'. Your kid is 7 and not on Facebook now fuck off and feel ashamed that your kid can never buy a name pen/bowl in the shops.
