I'm sitting reading a book in the front room watching the neighbour close just 1 of his double gates after driving off his drive. When he comes in layer he'll then have to stop the car, get out, open gate etc. He can be out anything from 5 minutes to all day but does this every time.

Other neighbour leaves his bins at the front of the house rather than putting them down the side of the house. Same neighbour has 4 people who drive living in the house, yet mum always comes and goes in taxis, sometimes with her grandkids, shopping etc. when they are home.

My mum drives her car right up to her back gate then has to walk around the car to go through gate. She then moans that she gets wet doing this when it's raining, but then won't leave a gap at the front of the car!

None of these things affect me so whyyyyyyyyy do they annoy me so much.

I should get a life

Really bugs me when people say they are waiting to get paid when they are waiting for their benefit to be credited to their account. You get paid when you have worked in my opinion

longwayoff · 01/01/2019 11:06

Irregardless??? That's a problem? How?

Pigletthedog · 01/01/2019 11:07

Someone on Facebook who writes 'an' every single time, when she means 'and'. 'Happy new year to my family an friends. Celebrating with a nice gin an tonic an cuddling the dog' etc. Fucking enrages me

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 01/01/2019 11:17

Agree with people who overshare on FB. One of my friends put pictures of her actual brain scans on there Confused

needanappp · 01/01/2019 11:19

@Puntosareus couldn't agree more!

Saw it for the first time the other day. Status: "When you don't get paid until Christmas Eve and can't get a turkey".

Can't see how you can have the nerve to complain about the day you get paid on when you've done nothing to earn the money in the first place!

masterstef · 01/01/2019 11:19

Irregardless??? That's a problem? How?

Supposably it is, yes

Wink

It's not a word. Nor is 'mischievious', while I'm at it.

toddlepod · 01/01/2019 11:23

People who don't check the etymology of a word then patronise others about how words should be pronounced because of flawed belief it originates from a different language, eg, homage is middle english, not modern french.

Waiting for new pronunciations:
Garage
Plumage
Sewage
Old age pensioner

Racecardriver · 01/01/2019 11:30

People who leave the tv on when it isn’t being watched.

Racecardriver · 01/01/2019 11:30

Same for TVs in pubs and cafes. The flickering drives me insane.

longwayoff · 01/01/2019 11:41

Irregardless? Hmm. OK, maybe. Would it be mischievous to suggest the same for supposably? Wink

longwayoff · 01/01/2019 11:46

Well, it depends, toddlepod doesn't it? Homage is well used in Middle English but how did it get there? From Norman French.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 01/01/2019 11:49

Not to be pedantic but the word supposably isn't actually a word either. It's supposedly.

TheFatberg · 01/01/2019 12:02

People who don't get jokes.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 01/01/2019 12:03

Cauliflowersqueeze palm drivers do look cocky that’s what it is Angry

longwayoff · 01/01/2019 12:11

People who insist their joke was funny when that's demonstrably untrue.

Claudia1980
Baby On Board signs. Does my head in!!!! Who cares!!! What are the people behind you supposed to do? WhT is the point of the signs? It’s not for emergency services so why put one in your car? Makes me wild!

As pp said, I always heard that it was so emergency services would know to search for a baby - not easy to see in a squashed car :( That's why the signs have stickers rather than being permanent. The ones that get me are 'Little Princess On Board' and 'Precious Cargo'.

Supermarket gripe - when you're packing your stuff and the checkout operator doesn't wait for you to finish, even when you're hurrying, sending the next person's shopping hurtling through to get mixed up with yours, even if there's no queue. Or sometimes the person behind keeps shoving forward with their empty trolley to force you out of the space. I get very PA and slow right down.

@TheFatberg I thought it was funny :(

Eliza9917 · 01/01/2019 14:10

"needs fed"

It's needs feeding Hmm

longwayoff · 01/01/2019 14:14

Baby on board signs came about after a mother and father were killed in a road accident in USA. The baby, still alive, I think, wasn't found for a couple of days as nobody knew to look for one.

SerenDippitty · 01/01/2019 14:22

longeayoff I believe that is an urban myth.

longwayoff · 01/01/2019 14:24

Baby, obviously, was thrown clear by impact.

longwayoff · 01/01/2019 14:29

It wasn't an urban myth when it happened I remember it quite clearly, hence the sudden proliferation of never seen before bb signs at the time. What people have done with it in the interim is up to them.

OneInAMillionYou · 01/01/2019 14:35

Meghan Markle constantly hanging on to Prince Harry when they are on PUBLIC engagements representing the Queen.

Yes, yes we get it. You're so in lurrrrve, you're the only people who've ever been in lurrrrve and you simply must show the world by holding hands or clinging on to his arms as though your legs have suddenly given up.

Just stop it. You're not on a date, you're at a formal event, not a teenage prom.

Thanks for that, OP. Doesn't affect my life in the slightest but so irritating.

Theunsungsong · 01/01/2019 14:36

But that doesn't make any sense. First, as soon as any relatives were contacted they would have said 'how about the baby'
Second, if the car was so badly damaged the rescuers couldn't see any baby paraphernalia a removable rear window sticker is unlikely to survive.

Spikeyball · 01/01/2019 14:55

People who don't put their trolley back properly in the trolley park and leave them loose rather than slotted in.
