Sil just sent me a picture of her 10 week old baby in his cot , the cot had loads of fluffy toys in , a cot bumper and a loose blanket !

Is it just me who gets annoyed when people don't take babies safety seriously enough ?
I mentioned the cot bumper and toys can be dangerous in a polite way but she didn't seem to care .

Maybe it's none of my business but I knew if I said nothing and something happened I would never forgive myself , am I wrong for poking my nose in ?

You're not wrong, I agree. I don't understand how some people can be so cavalier about their children's safety and well being.

Nope, you did the right thing. Maybe send some links about how it's linked to an increased risk of SIDS?
She might get pissy, but then again she might actually read it and take notice.

Stuff like that makes my heart clench up.

I took photos of my baby as a new born surrounded by soft toys in her moses basket , and took them away again after the photo. Could she have been doing that?

I agree, my group of NCT mums all used 2nd hand cot mattresses off Facebook selling sites, cot bumpers and put soft toys in the cot. They’re all educated and fairly well off so I just couldn’t get my head around it.

YANBU I don't know how the message still isn't getting across (not helped by every bloody shop having cot bumpers set up on the display cots!). You've done the right thing by raising it and how much more you can sa depends on your relationship with your sil (is she db wife? Could you mention to him?)

Antihop - I did that too!
