To feel wobbly at the end of maternity leave?

I don't think so but posting for traffic!

My DS is 10 months old, I am due to go back when he is 11.5 months and it's just starting to feel quite real! Shock Am lucky to have a stable career/job to go back to, lucky to be allowed to work PT (4 days) and partly from home, but he is my PFB and I am a single Mum so we have spent 99% of the time together (including at night as we co sleep/breastfeed etc). At the moment he has 3 hours of the week with a childminder and all the rest of the time with me. I am currently having a major wobble about my maternity leave coming to an end. I worry all the time about him starting at nursery, will he miss me, will he be able to fall asleep without a breastfeed etc... I also worry about starting work and being deskilled and everyone thinking I am an idiot after spending over 13 months out of the workplace! (I had to go off early with him for health reasons and also dealt with a traumatic birth, PND and some other issues).

Any advice??

I think this is normal. I had a major confidence crash before I went back to work, it took a few weeks for me to feel 'normal' whilst at work.

I'm sure your DS will be fine at nursery, and in a year or two you'll look back and think how well it worked out Smile

Book some half days leave (if you can) , one every few weeks, and take your DS somewhere for the afternoon, the park or something. It'll give you something to look forward to. Main advice is not to be hard on yourself!
