Lost dog -help!

Someone I know has had their rog go missing. It was seen with two people but they did not take it to the address on the tag. Police, wardens etc have been notified.

Please please can you give me online places where people might post about a dog, either to say they've found one or to sell one. Thank you.

The best place to start will be your local area Facebook pages. I see loads of lost dog posts on there which then get shared locally.

Even your own page, or someone local with Facebook if you don't have it, and ask people to share your post.

I think there are also "lost dog" websites so it might be worth googling to see if there's one in your area.

Whoseranium · 30/12/2018 16:00

Have they notified the company the dog's microchip is registered with? If they do that then it will flag up as missing/stolen if it gets scanned anywhere.

Try FB groups for that particular breed/cross/type of dog. Dog-related businesses in the area (vets, trainers, walkers, groomers, etc.) may well share for you.

If you think someone may be trying to sell the dog then check sales websites like Pets4Homes, Preloved, Gumtree, Dragon Driving, etc.

RedHelenB · 30/12/2018 16:02

Are they definitely sure its the same dog that was seen?

Wolfiefan · 30/12/2018 16:02

Oh no. Post on local FB sites.

RedHelenB · 30/12/2018 16:02

Facebook is the best place there are loads of groups on there.

Murphy's army
Harvey's army
Dog lost
These are just a few and they cover the entire country I hope this helps.

LostDog29Dec · 31/12/2018 21:23

Bump

culleyace · 31/12/2018 21:57

Have you forwarded those pages I suggested? They are great and will get his details out there.
Also if you leave something familiar to the dog where he went missing it might draw him back.
Some people cook barbecue to draw them out as they can't resist the smell when they get hungry.

LostDog29Dec · 31/12/2018 22:27

Hi. All the things on this list have been done. Definatly stolen unfortunately.

culleyace · 31/12/2018 23:05

I'm sorry to hear that it's my worst nightmare and I hope the dog is found soon. Those groups will get his details out fast and all over the country so hopefully he will be made to hot to handle and whoever has him will hand him in somewhere.
Do you have a dog lost poster?

Bambamber · 31/12/2018 23:11

Phone local vets, will be OOH vets by now. They have lost and found books and lost animals are often handed in. Are the details on the microchip up to date?

DaysOfCurlySpencer · 31/12/2018 23:50

There are many groups on Facebook for lost, found and stolen pets.

LostDog29Dec · 31/12/2018 23:57

He's home. Just heard thank God. Got dumped so obviously too hot to handle. Thank you all for your advice, I'm sure the combination from different sources will have helped.

Happy new year!

Wolfiefan · 01/01/2019 00:07

Thank goodness. Is he ok?

LostDog29Dec · 01/01/2019 00:21

As far as I know. May not be allowed to breath with being hugged so much. Grin

Wolfiefan · 01/01/2019 00:25

Also watch for weight gain due to constant feeding of treats. Grin
