Hi all,

I am posting here for traffic (I'm hoping you'll all be in the Christmas spirit and let me get away with it)

It's my sisters birthday soon (Feb) and I am trying to plan something (we usually spend big birthdays together and she has recently moved away from friends. She is dating but not serious at the moment.

So, I have a budget of max £300 and want to spend it on an activity rather than present. Anything you can recommend?

I've looked at day trip to London/overnight stay in a travelodge or murder mystery break. Do you think either are feasible within that budget?

Anything you can recommend would be appreciated as I want to get it right (I can possibly up budget but not by much)

Depends on travel costs really. It can be over £100 for me to get to London.

Wowcher have deals on sale for murder mystery nights at the moment

Tickets for a band or theatre show?
You could always pay extra for a meet and greet Grin

Depends where you live you can get overnight ferry to Rotterdam or Amsterdam, free coach to centre of city, 5 hours in city, then return on overnight ferry. You could stay a night in the city if you have budget. Avoid dates near Valentine's or Easter. You can also get cheap flights on easyJet or Ryanair too.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am looking the options.

Groupon seems to have quite a few spa breaks and a couple of murder mystery breaks that could suit.

Amsterdam would be a little bit far for the length of break I would be able to budget for but one for the future!

I've just come back from London with my son. We live in Cornwall. We travelled by megabus £18 return for both of us, stayed at earls court youth hostel in a private room £55. London on a budget is definitely do-able. Last minute. Com is great for posh hotels at cheap prices

What kind of thing does your sister enjoy? Would the £300 be for the activity itself, or just for your sister or for everyone? :)

I am really struggling with what she would enjoy (that I can bring in under budget) She likes adventures and travelling, theatre, murder mysteries, ghost tours, locked in room escape type things, well being retreat type things possibly too - anything different I think. She loved Scotland and London.

Shes had a meh few years really and is dreading this birthday so wanted to do something that will cheer her up. Unfortunately, my budget has been slashed for various reasons 🤦‍♀️
The budget is for all of us which could be 5 people, 3 people or just me ansd her. That depends on what is chosen and how far it will stretch.
