To ask you to to help me plan a NYE supper

I don't want it to take long to prepare but I want it to be something a bit more than run off the mill.

I am thinking salmon fillets. I found a recipe in the MN recipe section which grills the salmon with a herb crust on top. Has anyone does similar? Does it work? Also, what to serve with it? I saw a stuffed pepper recipe with goats cheese but I am thinking that might not go with the salmon. Any ideas, please?

Broccoli and asparagus go well with salmon IMO
Small diced herb potatoes?

Roasted new potatoes with sour cream on the side. Delicious with salmon

I've done salmon with pesto crust which I really like and it's easy. Just a layer of bought pesto in the salmon then topped with a a mix of breadcrumbs and Parmesan. Chinese flavours also work well with salmon - just a bought hoisin marinade with a simple noodle dish. Have a lovely NYE!

Thanks for the ideas. I am off to the shops now! I think I will combine the roast new potato idea with steamed veg and I have just found a sour cream and mustard sauce which goes with both. And maybe try the Chinese idea later in January. Weirdly, Chinese isn't special enough for me as we eat a lot of it midweek. This meal is just about pleasing me.
